Cant get Broadband

I want to reduce my internet and phone bills, and possibly get free tv channels if there is a deal available.
At the moment, I am paying £14.99 for dial-up internet with Tiscali, BT say I cant get broadband to my house yet (even though you can a couple of streets away), but it may be possible in the future.
I pay BT option one, and with additional calls (not very many as we all use free minutes on our mobiles), this is £18.00 per month.
Is there any way I can do some combining?

The new BT option packages may be useful to you but try to get a definite statement from BT regarding why you can't get BB at the moment. It could just be a local capacity problem, in which case they should be able to give you a date.

people seem to think that because their neighbour doors down from them has broadband means they can have it, totally depends on your line & its length from the exchange (and the length of the line isnt as the crow flies)0 -
Use the BTw ADSL Availability checker to see what BTw's official line is regarding provisioning ADSL on your line.
If you're stuck with dial-up, have you seen if you can get cable broadband?
If you can't, then look for a cheaper dial-up ISP which has enough hours usage included - some examples:-
Zazizam
SayUK
DialupISP
Flexi-Surf
Free24-7
Take a look at the telephones board for ideas on the phone calls. Take a look at 18185, 1899 & 18866.0
