oh ok sorry for taking it in a different direction. I thought that was the case with all phones as i have used the service myself and it doesn't state anything about blackberry's being sent away either. anyway sorry for any confusion.Littlemiss27 wrote: »Sorry I didn't mean to come across like I was advising against sending away for repair, just didn't want OP going in with the expectation of a short turn around time for repair and finding out It could take about 2 or 3 weeks.0 -
All phones have water damaged indicators, they usually look like white labels but change colour on contact with water. It does not matter who you send it back to as water damage is *SPECIFICALLY* excluded on warranties, if it's water damaged or rather the stickers say it's been in contact with water then it will come back unrepaired with a comment that it's not under warranty.
How it happened (be is a good dunking or condensation) is irrelevent to the service dept, they'll look at the indicator strips and just class it as water damaged and reject it.
Sorry it's not more helpful, but the OP needs go back to the O2 shop, get something in writing or on file from whoever checked it to get it escalted, as if the water damage indicators now indicate water ingress no-one will touch it, they need that bloke at o2 to say it was OK when checked (or at least as they could see).
To the OP DO NOT stop your direct debit to o2. Ensure your objection is on file, ask for a refund while your phone is in for repair, but keep paying. Cancelling the direct debit is a great way to get a credit blackmark, and the supply and warranty of the handset and the supply of the airtime are two seperate contracts. Even if your phone is broke beyond repair you are still liable for payment for the airtime side of the contract.0 -
Sue them. Will help them concentrate their mind.0
