If your TV has a VGA or DVI port for connecting a PC, then you can use the xbox VGA cable which costs £20 (cheaper than buying a £200 xbox elite console)
The VGA cable does support up to 1920x1080 resolution. I'm using this on an older xbox 360 premium which doesn't have HDMI and the difference in picture quality is amazing.0
