Made it to the GPs OK but felt a bit of a wally as used a ski pole as a walking stick :o I had a few hairy moments on the ice but didn't fall thankfully.

Now about to do my casserole in the slow cooker and make the beds - I always feel better when they're done. Going to be a pottery sort of day I think today and I wouldn't be surprised if I have both kids this afternoon as I think DH is going to venture into work.

Without wanting to step on anybodies toes for newbies I've copied one of Pigpens old lists to give you an idea for today.

Thursday - bathroom, study and other grotty places!
    Level One
Clean the loo and the bath and the shower and the basins!
Defragment PC and run spyware scans while scrubbing the tiles and grout!
    Level Two
Clean out the bathroom cabinets.. throw out/charity shop all last years unused/unwanted smellies.
Clean windows, curtains & blinds etc
    Declutter and vacuum/mop floors
    Level Three
Wash bathmats/shower curtain and furry bog hats
Replace any sponges/flannels/toothbrushes etc that need it
throw out any empty bottles.. decant dribbles into fuller bottles

    Extras- some ideas
    sort out your sewing basket
sort all the receipts you need to keep from those you don't
    delete 50 old emails
    delete 10 old favourites
    renew your library books online
waterproof any shoes that need it
    feed and water the birds

Sorry if anyone thinks I'm taking over - I'm really not :p

Temp Manager managed to deal a final blow to me while I've been off! I had to whistleblow 2 professionals from a different place (more for those individuals safety rather than any concern for a service user) and she named me on the letters that she sent out as the person who'd disclosed concerns! Can't believe it! How am I supposed to face these people? I'm certain their line managers will have dragged them over the coals and it wouldn't surprise me if they've undergone some form of disciplinary - put it this way - the temp manager said that if someone had disclosed something like that about me then I'd get sacked ! I couldn't avoid disclosing it because it had to be part of my recordings and I'd get into a lot of trouble otherwise! What a cow! I'm gutted, could it get any worse?! Sorry to go on folks, my stress levels are through the roof!
Review your whistleblowing policy, as your confidentiality should have been preserved, and then talk it through with your current manager. Ask for senior management support in dealing with the issue as this is clearly out of order. You can point out that this kind of behaviour is what prevents people whistleblowing and can lead to problems (I'm sure you can provide some graphic examples of what happens when poor practice is allowed to continue). Is your temp manager still employed in the same organisation? If so, ask what action is being taken for the breach of policy/process, as you shouldn't have to instigate this, it is management responsibility. If not, ask for confirmation that she has a 'do not re-employ' note on her file with details of what she's done.

Pigpen's gone awol (hopefully she's OK... she was about late last night), so the best thing to do is catch up, and then make a start on remaining rooms (bathroom, children's rooms, study, spare room - whatever you have). Level 1 usually involves clearing and cleaning floors! Bathroom will mean cleaning loos, basins, bath and shower, washing bathmats & shower curtains, polishing mirrors etc - just a few ideas in case you're stuck for something to do!

Looks as if my walk for today is sorted - need to go into school to discuss reopening options... Suppose I should get myself logged on and start doing some work...

    ETA - thanks Dusty!
