  • Be careful - if you are leaving uni early and have only been there 1 year and the rest at college this is not actually a "degree" without honours it is not academic or considered much better than a college ALevel or BTEC.

There aer SO many different quals now, and names and status' it is a joke (this is comign from someone working in education!) A degree is only considered A DEGREE by employers when it is done with 3 years study at a university and the honours mean so much more. 1 year at uni is not really worth anything compared to the full degree.

Of course it does all depend on what career you want? x
  • It's yours to change. I just did it based on what you had written so had to guess when you would be paying things. Change the starting amount to show the £30 and then show the £30 being paid onto a debt.

£5 is £5 and it is great you are not having to pay it.

When you bought cotton wool did you buy balls? Don't again, buy the cotton wool roll and rip off and roll your own balls. Saves so much money plus you roll them to size you want. Also check out the costings for shaving versus waxing. How much are the razors and how long do they last compared to a pot of wax? You'll get used to doing it yourself lol
thanks, no i got cotton buds and pads, i need the buds to clean a still healing piercing. I usually use the pads on my face, but will keep that little trick in mine for next time :)
Also i've never had anything waxed, lol im a bit scared about it. :s

But i will be leaving with a full degree. the 2 years i have done in college, is the same as the first 2 years in uni. I could have left college after 1 year and went into 2nd year at uni. But i stayed, so now i am in 3rd year. Here honors year is optional, and they only let people into in who have got 60-70% in the 3rd year course work. I know people from the year above me in college who have done the same thing as me, and now have pretty good jobs in hotels. I am doing travel and tourism, and with the upcoming common wealth games being held here in Glasgow, i'm fairly sure there will be alot of jobs going for me when i finish.

Thanks, yeah one of them went over my report with me, he said i hadn't layed it out properly, and i hadn't actually answered what i was meant to do, i was just describing the museum, and what it offered. He also said that i hadn't refrenced correctly.

I've have wrote reports in college, and just done it the same way i was told to in college, so i don't know exactly what was wrong with it. As for refrencing, that was my first attempt at it, so i didn't expect to get it 100%.

My presentation to go along with it, i just scraped a pass in, i got 42, the pass mark is 40. He said i didn't present myself properly, and did not look like i was there to make a presentation that day.

The other report i failed as well, no feedback on it as of yet. Then i have another 2 to hand in tomorrow, and another one due in on the 13th.

I would suggest popping to your university Learning Resource Centre/Library, they will have specialist there than you can book an hour with than can go through referencing and how to do it properly using the best sources.

Also there will be someone there who is a specialist in your subject so ask for a meeting with them, they will be able to help with your coursework.

The university librarians don't just put books back on the shelves, they usually have degrees or higher in the subject area they look after, so have good knowledge.

Also don't be afraid to go to the lecturers of your course, the uni I went to had an open door policy..just knock and tell them you need help, and if they was available they would spend as much time as they had free helping.

Don't be afraid of them...thats the biggest difference I found with college to uni. In College they are more like school teachers, in uni they are not.

Ahh I have just remembered something (lightbulb required!)

When term starts get straight down to your university finance centre. Every year they have an pot of money to give out to students as an additional grant if you are stuggling with money - so get down there pick up the leaflets and application form - or even book a meeting with one of their advisers (you will need to take bank statements etc)

It's usually on a first come first served basis so you need to go ASAP.

I did this and had about £200, but thats alot when your a student.

Also they will be able to tell you what your entitled to and what other things you can apply for such as specialist grants for your course. When I was in uni the local council was providing extra grants for women in science, so that was something extra I applied for, but without going to see the finance centre I would never of know about.

    Wow, that's brilliant well done!
I think there was another poster who made money by doing the 'adult texts' and she could fit it around her other jobs!
