Talk talks broadband/phone line offer - help!

HI All

I am looking at signing up to Talk talks broadband and phone line offer (see below link) but i am asking for some assistance as this stuff confuses me and i dont want to make mistakes...

1. The offer is for 18 months but im not sure if i will be staying here for longer than a year - can i "take it with me"?

2. The offer says the connection free is waived if i join online, does this mean that i will not have to pay ANY fee upfront, and the phone line installation will be free?

3. Am i missing a hidden charge or will the total cost be around £18 per month?

Because i havent posted much i cannot add link on here so have taken the fist w off the www please could you add and have a look for me?

    Thanks so much

Yes you should be able to transfer to another property, they may charge for this and to get this offer you need to be in there LLU area (check here to see if you are in their "network" area, if not supply us with a list of what LLU providers you have).

You get broadband installtion free, a new phoneline costs £59.99 see here.

As i said, in relation to the cost you need to check you are in their LLU area if not then you will pay a higher amount.

Let us know what is in your LLU area as somepeople find TalkTalk very bad customer service.
  • Thanks alot for your response, i just checked and can get Talk talk in my LLU Area, also can get BT, AOL and SKY/EASYNET

So i will have to pay almost £60 but then just around £18 a month?

Basically yeah, so £59.99 for the phone installation. Once that is installed 25 days later your broadband will be.
They're quite slow to be honest. But if you were looking at TV also or a 12 month contract sky offer this (if you are allowed a satellite dish, or have one on the property already).
  • Thanks :) Really appreciate your help - im hopeless at this

Dont forget to go though a cashback site !
  • I would advise against TalkTalk, based on my recent experience. I signed up by phone 2-3 weeks ago, and was due to have an engineer visit this week to set me up. I phoned today to find out when they were coming, and they told me that they'd cancelled my order a couple of days after I placed it, but had not bothered to tell me. Apparently they had noted down a completely wrong phone number for me, and when they couldn't get through they decided to give up. They could have emailed me or sent me a letter, or called me on the same line that I was converting to talktalk, but they didn't bother.
After speaking to four people in three departments I got nowhere. they told me I'd have to start again and wait another three weeks for an engineer to visit, another six weeks for broadband to be set up, and blamed me for the mix-up with the number.
If this is how they treat somebody who is about to sign up to a long term contract paying £400 or £500 over 24 months, I wonder how they treat you when they've got you snared!

No problems here, service has been great
  • Because Talk Talk is run from BT phone lines, there is only one area you cannot take it and thats HULL. Hull has there own private exchange its the only city in the UK which has and means there is No BT service what so ever.

So if you plan to move there anytime soon, you wont be able to transfer it. Its a problem i face at the moment as i moved out of the area last year and looking to move back.

    Hi evabeaver,

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

The new line fee with TalkTalk id indeed £59.99 but all new line instalations have a 24 month contract not 18 months. If you are migrating from another provider using a BT line then the connection fee is £29.99 and the contract term is 18 months.

You can arrange a home move with TalkTalk and this incurs a fee of £29.99 for the administration costs and set up of your service at the new property.

    Cheers
