Visit Samknows and do an exchange search, this will tell you if any ISPs have LLU 'd it.
LLU operators will usually have the cheapest internet accounts compared to those who use BT's network.
You may be able to get you line installed by one of them.
Are you in a cabled area? That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
I dont understand any of the above - the whole thing confuses me, i have had a look on various websites but do not understand if i will have to pay connection fees etc I have no idea what an ISP or LLU is?0

Sam Knows - www.samknows.com - check your telephone number, and then tell us the LLU operators you can get from the results...0

Unless you are in a cable area your need a phone line to get broadband if you dont want mobile broadband. Normally your pay a connection fee of some sort to get one installed ,if you have not already got a working line.BT currently offer Free Connection if you agree to a 18 month phone line rental contract.
What exchange is your new home on. http://www.samknows.com/broadband/search.php0 -
BT + O2 might be he cheapest,
You can get £100 cashback from O2 if you go through quidco.0 -
ISP Internet Service Provider.
LLU Local Loop Unbundling.

I've just been in the same boat as you. I got a BT line installed with their free connection offer (don't know if this is still ongoing though) and then O2 broadband. BT costs me £11.25 per month (which is discounted as i pay by DD and i am on paperless billing) and the broadband is approx £12 a month although if you are an O2 customer i think you can bring that down to about £7 per month.
The other option we looked at was getting a talk talk line along with their broadband package - can't remember what the montly charge worked out at (think it was a little more than the BT/O2 option) but they charged a connection fee which is why we went with BT.
Hope this helps.0 -

How long did this last?
What sim card/cost?
How long before they cut you off?
Did they not do anything to stop/limit you?
