Picasso wiper blades alignment help
Hi
need help with fixing wiper blades on a picasso (53 model). the blades appear to be out of alignment when in use as the driver side blade is not about 1" below the windscreen and the passenger side above it. when in use then catch each other and hence stop either working.
cant see any obvious reason to why they are out of sync, but any help welcome please, if anyone has come across this before.

if i were you i would look at another picasso for reference, then remove your wiper arms and refit them, easy job for you or a garage0

Look at another Picasso and note how the wiper arms sit in the parked position. Remove your wiper arms, turn the wipers on then off, wait a few seconds to allow the motor to rest in the parked position, turn the ignition off and fit the arms as indicated
by the one you previously looked at. Good luck!0 -
i tried removing wiper arms, but i actually think its the arms linked to the motor mechanism that seems to be out of sync. the wipers do not appear bent or our of alignment themselves.0

arms on cars are often a !!!!! to remove, you might need a puller
maybe slip a random windscreen replacer a tenner0 -
Take them both off then swap them round. Have they been changed lately?
Failing that, see if any of them move freely by hand. If yes, one of the securing nuts are loose.0 -
have you tried to operate them recently when they've been frozen to the windscreen?...work permit granted!0

good suggestion
also after ive had screens replaced, the 13 year old that done it has never really done a good job and ive had to refit trim/arms etc0 -
There are 2 little lines on the screen where the blades should sit. If they catch due to sticking on ice etc they can end up swapping places, upper and lower, and carry on bumping into each other. This type of wiper is a disaster waiting to happen IMO. Just pull them off and refit onto the lines. Driver's is the upper blade.0

hi thanks for replies so far.
no wipers not been changed recently.
and screen was ice free before they were used and it was realised that they are out of sync.
yes i can see the lines and both wipers are off the lines. the passenger side is above the drivers side. I had taken off the driver side wiper as the clip broke when we tried operating them. Therefore i tried replacing with an old wiper blade we had kept for spare. still no luck. It seems to be the arms that are out of sync, not the blades. hoping its a simple job and not a £££$$£ trip to the dealer.0 -
