Work & Makeup

I wear full make up everyday of my life, even if I'm not leaving the house, or if I'm ill
. I can't bear looking in the mirror and seeing myself without make-up, I look so much healther/prettier with it all on. Not only that but I actually look forward to putting it all on in the morning, and trying different colours/brands. I also take it all off at around 2pm and reapply it all again, I thought every woman did that until I was caught by a friend doing my makeup in the car, she thought it was hilarious. 0 -
when i do work i wear only minimal make up. foundation, powder, benefit high beam and curl my lashes. i still do wear foundation even if im just popping to the shops or taking the boys to nursery. Think its a confidence thing with me though as my skin has always been a bit spotty and blotchy since i was about 13 and always feel the need to 'cover up'0

I always wear my everyday makeup to work, to me its part of looking smart for work. If I'm in all day then I won't bother, in fact at home alone I look a right scruff, wear what ever is closest, don't bother with my contacts (although I do think its good to give my eyes a bit of a rest anyway)
I hate the fact that I always seem to have a shiny forehead by midday though.2009 wins: Cadburys Chocolate Pack x 6, Sally Hansen Hand cream, Ipod nano! mothers day meal at Toby Carvery! :j :j :j :j0 -
I had bad skin as a teen and as a result i am still very paranoid about my face...even though my skin is a lot better now i still wear a lot of make-up and could not go without. Sounds vain but i am just not confident or happy enough in myself to not put a full face on. I hate the way i look and at least make-up helps a tiny bit."You dont need a weather man to know which way the wind blows"0

I didn't start till early to mid 30s - always went to work without makeup unless I had a special meeting and even then only would have put on a little eye makeup.
Now at nearly 40 it's eye makeup (eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara) as a minimum. In summertime I think I can still get away with no foundation (hate how it sweats off) but in winter I'll wear some foundation as well. I could do without, people at work do definitely turn up with no makeup on but I wouldn't feel especially comfortable with it personally.0 -

I wear minimum for work. Tinted moisturiser, translucent powder, neutral eyeshadow a little eye liner and mascara. I look like death warmed up otherwise!
However, if I am not going anywhere, like today, I'll give my face a good scrub, pluck eyebrows etc, and slather it in nivea and just leave it be.Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0 -
I pretty much never bother, IMO it looks worse than bare skin when mid day its melting or wearing off or creasing. That said I tend to have smudges of dirt across my face within a couple of hours of starting work - either from the compressor or tidying up the kit room. But even in previous 'clean' jobs I still tended not to bother, the only exception is bar work where I'll wear some eyemake up and a lip gloss or tinted lip balm. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Usually, I don't. Sometimes I do -- but it is more than just a slight bit of lipstick people comment on it! Not because they see it as a bad thing but because it's such a rare thingMurphy's No More Pies Club #209

I don't - my skin is normally clear and healthy-looking so I don't worry about spots, only shine so I use a moisturiser that makes my skin matte. I occasionally put on some lipstick if I'm feeling saucy but it's not part of my routine and I actually like the feeling of special-occasion-ness I get when I go somewhere that involves putting makeup on
