The hilariously over-optimistic goals I am setting myself in 2010....

Had a low spend day today as I had a yummy work lunch, and have used up some lovely fresh spinach and pea soup for my tea (not homemade, unfortunately). But I have frozen peas and frozen spinach so I might have a crack at making some at the weekend. It can't be that hard can it? Just stock and seasoning needed I suppose. The freezer is stuffed to the gills with Iceland stuff and homemade ready meals, and I have some cheapy museli still, so I should only really have to buy fruit and milk for a while. Have also signed up to Taste Radar which supposedly reimburses your fruit and veg spend up to £25 a month if you review the stuff you eat. That would be brilliant because I do spend a lot on fruit and veg - I eat more than my 5 a day! Will give it a try and report back.
Have set up a standing order for £50 a month to Bank Of Daddy, and will try and pay the rest off in one big chunk in April when my Egg loan is cleared.
Am hoping to get some freelance from work soon which would bring in about £400 . That would go straight off my credit union loan I reckon.
Am feeling a bit down today. Just so sick of worrying about money all the time. Just have to keep my eyes on the prize - debt free this year (with a lot of effort). What an amazing feeling that would be. Have been torturing myself looking at property !!!!!! this week, imagining the lovely little one bed flat I could get once my debt is all gone. Then I could start actually enjoying life more instead of wishing away the days til the next payday. *Sigh* Oh well, it's only money after all.DEBT FREE! AS OF 25/02/15

Hi Hannah
Like your style - you sound like me [STRIKE]eighteen [/STRIKE] mmm, some years ago...Especially liked the buying of the Xbox game, for a machine you don't have, the boots that you didn't like when they were finally released from customs, the inappropriate email when inebriated, the plan for apparently extensive tattooing when trying to save money, the bonus cheque that now has to be repaid - it all made me laugh! And that's a wonderful gift
So what I'd say is, you don't owe much in the grand scheme of things, and you're only young and lovely once, so enjoy it.....though don't let short term fun get in the way of your longer term goals - that's important - and in the meantime, when you slip, as you will, just keep working at it.
Loving the sound of Taste Radar, btw, although one does rather think, how much can there be to say about mmmm a potato, perhaps? And soup is the easiest thing in the world to make, and very forgiving even if it goes a bit wrong, so you can def knock some up when you have time to spare#Tesco 0% NIL Jan 2010

Hhhm, how to review an onion. Ponce-ily, probably. Am guessing that's the house style. But as a veggie (though with 4 carniverous males around me, and the dog, and he's a boy too, so have a bit too much contact with meat for my liking) we get through loads of the stuff. So if they'll have me too, am game for a bit of ponce-y writing - anyday. Am Googling.

*Squeal!* This has actually been the best day ever. I can't stop smiling. Firstly, the interview went really well. I made them laugh (with me, not at me. I think.) And secondly a good deed I did for a stranger came back to me times three and has completely restored my faith in humanity. I just can't wipe the smile off my face now! Stuff like this almost never happens, but when it does it makes me so happy inside! Am going to dance around my kitchen now.....DEBT FREE! AS OF 25/02/15
