Well, I missed my £70 ebay target by a mile - £43 was the total in the end. Oh well, will try and dig out some more stuff to list next week.
The green lentil dahl was bloody delicious for a first attempt, and should be enough for a few lunches. Ended up spending a bit more than I wanted to because I had to buy some spices in that I thought I already had, but it was still mega cheap and healthy.
Boot Camp tomorrow, and I pledge I will not miss a single one until the end of the month, rain or no rain.

It's really not that bad. It only hurts when you go over boney bits. And the pain doesn't last long, but you have the art forever.

  • Hiya - stumbled upon your thread while looking for something else, very funny and I know how you feel.

I had major debt problems, was digging my way out and was made redunadant a week before xmas. thankfully I get some redundancy to see me through, but still attempting to get my financial house in order!

I too have lots of goals this year too, new job, divorce, ridiculous weightloss, clear debts, get some savings ... so much to squeeze in!!!

I signed up to that the Slivers of time thing too, although as it isnt in Birmingham yet so that one might be a non starter. I am concidering to doing a bit of working on the adult lines .... I did it a few years ago for about 6 months to pay some debts my ex left me with. It was ok, got paid every fortnight, you do have to ***declare you own tax*** but you can work from home and you can watch your money going up live on line which makes it less horrible. Ho hum will give it some more thought though, its a bit hard on the old soul but I made around a ground in 4 months part time around my other job. Just need to take a mental shower afterwards lol!

I also enter competitions and sell the prizes on ebay, as of this year i am using that money to start a pension ISA savings fund. Already this year i have won about £240 worth of stuff and its only the 20th! Takes a lot of time but there are rewards.

Anywhoo I am rambling, well done on the no smoking and you should be proud of yourself!!! Keep up the blog x

Hi Jackie! I did actually consider the adult chat lines. A friend of mine did it and made ok money, but she did lose a small part of her soul with it. I'm just a bit worried I would run out of things to say to keep them on the line. Did you find you had to be quite creative? How many hours a week were you doing to make £1k in 4 months? That's pretty good money. There's the texts as well but I think you have to do millions to make any decent cash, and my fingers might fall off. Plus people's bad text speak spelling would make me homicidal.
Have entered a few competitions, need to get into doing it more systematically though. So far have only entered for cash or stuff that would sell easily, like Nintendo Wiis. Signed up to Bingo Britain yesterday to get the bonus plays, but it's boring as hell and I haven't won anything yet. I actually don't really understand how it works. Will let you know if anything comes of the Slivers of Time thing. Not holding my breath though. Sex work it is then!
Good luck with all your many challenges!

  • well I am a bit of an insomniac so I used to do it at night which had the slightly higher tier payment; so a few hours here and there. I tended to let them lead, I had a character that I played which i stuck too so i didnt get confused. I remember having one guy on the phone for an hour and 40 minutes and all he wanted to do was rant about his day at work; another guy wanted to be punished ... but I wont go into detail about what I made him do ouch! They didnt do the text back then maybe the do them now?? Not sure, will look into that.

My friend used to pretend to be a leggy blonde Russian called Saskia. She would unzip her handbag down the phone and say she was unzipping her knee length leather boots. Ha! I don't think I could do it without laughing.
