Have spent hours on this thread reading the hundreds of posts, I must say I am most inspired by all your ideas! I am going to go on the hunt of baskets and florists cellophane at the weekend!
  • Thats a lovely idea....i will do it for my two daughters!!

P.s Tell your son i was always told if you dont believe in Father christmas he doesnt come.....
I still pretend now but been a few years since he visited?
    heres to hoping!!!:rotfl:

A few years ago we took our 8 & 6 year old kids to Lapland, a brilliant trip I must admit, but have you ever tried telling an 11 year-old that Santa does not exist because he was being teased for being the only one at school that still believed! It broke my heart, but made me realise how convinced he had been since Lapland, I know that this is a money saving site but if anyone is considering taking the kids to Lapland it is worth every penny, and you get free solid belief out of your kids after that!
What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare

I'm sure this must have been posted already as a suggestion at least 10 times in this thread alone (only I can't be bothered checking!).

It comes too late for this year but why not collect all your freebies from now until Christmas '07 and use 'em as stocking fillers? I reckon a year's 'trawl' would 'net' a decent stockingsworth... so that would call for a net stocking, of course...

Not a freebie but quite a bargain. Woolies have their "paint your own" at half price. I picked up 3 paint your own piggybanks for £12! Thats my friends sorted.

The baskets are a great idea. I have been saving all my free samples throughout the year but gave them all to the MS group my mum goes to as treats for the patients. Oh well. I guess i'll start saving for next year.

Don't forget if you are lucky enough to get a hamper from work (i am) you can always pinch split is as mini hampers. My Grandad always gets the port and wine from mine lol

Also lots of rolls of cellophane available on ebay at reasonable prices!!

As someone else said it can be used for so many things I personally find it much cheaper to buy a roll! (Also good for shredded tissue paper)

Hi I've just got back from Boots and I have picked up 6 different perfume samples off of the counters. They come in small bottles so I am going to put them inside my Christmas crackers as a suprise gift (no-one will be expecting that).

I did that a few years ago with avon samples, little lipsticks and perfumes etc!! I just squeezed the gift ito the cracker, everyone was really chuffed!!

This is really nice, except for the "i think you ought to practice being more_____". I was going to send to my nephew, but as an aunt I am bias and he is perfect!!

More for mums I think, but my kids are too old now!! I could think of many things for them to practice!!! I do love them, but I have to live with them!!
