Best place to get cover/warranty on LED tv

Hi there,
I've been browsing around for the best deal on a Samsung 6000 LED tv. The best price (with the tv in stock) was at dixons but the additional "whatever happens warranty" is £320 for 5 years. This is a little steep for me as I really only need it to cover parts and labour rather than covering accidental damage and other additional stuff.
Does anyone know any other places I can try who will offer a good coverplan which won't burn a hole in my wallet? I am aware of 10% warranty at richer sounds and john lewis offering free 5 year with price match but they didn't have the tv I wanted.

Whoops, I didn't fully read post.

If it doesn't need to cover accidental damage then aren't you already covered under Sale of Goods Act? Would seem mad to pay for something that doesn't do anything more than what are already your fundamental consumer rights."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Perhaps you should consider what tv's John Lewis have?0

I presume the sale of goods act only covers the first year. I would like piece of mind and cover for 5years. John lewis aren't doing the tv I want and the next tv up costs some £400 more for which the 5 year warranty doesn't cover accidental damage etc..
I am wondering whether I should just use the money to buy an appropriate form of home contents insurance so that the tv is covered in this way?
Another way may be to get the dixons/currys cover but to wait till the price of the tv drops so that it falls into a cheaper price band and therefore cost less to cover... the website says I can purchase cover up to a year after the purchase...
Any other ideas?0 -

I guess not having to spend time and money proving an inherent fault on a three year old + TV is a major draw.
Also, the WEH price relates to the price when bought. Or, if they do it properly, it should!Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
Have you tried House of Fraser?

Thanks for the heads-up about house of fraser but the combined price of the tv at dixons and the 5 year coverplan with accidental cover comes to the same price as the tv in HofF...
Guess that's the cheapest I can get for the combined package.0 -
Dixons or House of Frazer?
Doesn't really take much thinking about.;)0 -

Not for the cost of most "extended warranties".
On a side note be carfeul with John Lewis price matching, sometimes they point blank refuse if it's quite a bit cheaper whether or not you're following their conditions."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
