Got my furbabe back home, she looks ok - got a dressing on her leg and a lampshade on her head....
Back for a check up on Wednesday and then for the stiches to come out 10 days from today.
Minimum walking in between.
Glad it is over.. Uffffff
Thanks for your words of comfort everyone, very much appreciated.0 -
gettingready, you said she may be GS, she definitely looks GS. Same headshape, the darker colouring (black predominant) that I've seen on a few GS's (mum used to have one - she was near as dammit pedigree but was used in a puppy farm - she lived ot 12 so yours has a good few years yet) Mum's did start to have hip problems, but there's no guarantee that hipscoring will come back clear, there is a chance it can go either way or not happen at all - hopefully that'll be what happens. Sorry to hear about her needing an op, but good to hear she's home and recovering (and if she has blankets and a teddy thats what mum's used to do too)** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

Elfen - what I meant she has no papers to "prove" she is a GS
I bought her from a Gumtree ad (tried to get a rescue dog but no rescue would let me have one.. I work and I live in a falt with no garden.. ahhh.. whatever, better for dogs to be in cages for years than on my bed here.. what can I do?).
She was advertised for sale at 16 weeks as her then owners decided she "grew too big"....
I have no idea about her background (parents) but the second I put her collar and lead on she is MY girl and nothign else matters.
She is snoring away on the armchair now, with her lampshade on.. All looks good0 -

Zara is only 3.5 years old, acting like a 12 month old
She had joint problems when I got her at 16 weeks, she was on Seraquin for about a year - as she is "kind of GS" (no papers, Gumtree baby who was "too big" at 16 weeks for her owners and I got her the day I saw her advertised....long story).. as she is "kind of" GS, I am aware of hip problems coming at some point and elbow displasia etc (insured up to her ears) but I did nto expect problems so early in her life to be honest and it worries me a lot.
The vets that have seen her before all said this should not cause her problems, today I saw it actually does as it looks inflamed and was bleeding.
She loves hard floors and leather armchair very soft) and alternates between the two - but she seem to prefer the hard floor (laminat/tiles) and I am just trying to figure out how to get her to sleep on her own soft bed or on settee/armchair (which are both soft).
Scratching the head....
It could be she gets too warm on the leather armchair - maybe a cold hot waterbottle (IYSWIM) would persuade herI THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I KnowSupermarket Rebel No 19:T0 -
Psykicpup thanks but it turned out to be something else, it was cut off yesterday and Zara is recovering at home right now.0
