With regards to the faster payments being implemented to Santander I've asked my colleagues and none have heard of any changes. I am under the impression though that you can specify what type of payment you can do if you have internet banking? (Whether it's standard or faster receipts?)

Santander don't do faster payments outwards, only inwards (£££ Ka-Ching to santander yet again)

They are one of the founding members of the faster payments and "one of the worlds largest banks" don't you know :rotfl:

Does anyone know if you used an atm to withdraw €100 from your account or you spent €100 using your Santander visa debit card how much you would pay in sterling?

You havn't said what date so you can work it out for yourself.

If your account is not Santander Zero , then you put 2.75 in the bank fee. and whatever answer you get add £1.25

    so today that would be 89.17 + 1.25 = £90.42

for Santander Zero it is £86.87

Thank you for responding. I can not work out how you got that figure. Could you please tell me how much £100 would buy me in €s?

110 Euros including the £1.25 charge.

    (100-1.25)*1.12=110.16

I am trying to get my head around these calculations. I clicked on the link you so kindly provided and today it states £1 = €1.154429 while €1 = £0.866229. Does this mean that £100 would equal €114.00 (100-1.25)*1.154429) and €100 would cost £86.62 at todays rates if I had a Santander Zero account?

    Sorry for the hassle? :o

Try using this its much easier

    http://www.oanda.com/currency/converter/

the answer will be out bt 0.75% For santander zero set the RATE: to Interbank and for normal cards set it to 2%

so today accoring to this £100-1.25= 111.61 Euros and 115 for Zantander Zero.

If you want Euros without it costing so much. You sould get a FairFx Prepaid Mastercard. You buy the Euros with your debit card and then spend them on the euro card. Today you get 115 Euros for £100. which is the same as Santander Zero (without the mortage). Also the card can be used for Ryanair flights and you don't pay the £10 card booking fee on your flights.

If you are using this card abroad for spending and were asked if you wanted the amount you had spent charged to your card in £s or €s which should you say?
