If it makes you feel any better I laughed and so did Mr Angelic but only because there is an element of truth in the punchline (not sticking up for wife beaters!)...women just can't shut up with their whinging which, ironically, Bagpuss proved!

I can appreciate where you're coming from but it can be difficult to put a joke on here without offending someone.
Green posts jokes most days. Occasionally there has been the odd joke that has touched on sensitive areas of my own life. It's just the way it is. I can laugh, feel sad, or ignore. What I definitely would not want is for jokes to stop being posted in case someone gets upset.
A thick skin and a sense of humour are vital tools on the internet.
