You have got one of the last but will your DS still be willing to be included on yours when he is 12+!

Luckily, he's an easy going lad, and this may be our last family holiday abroad for a couple of years, so I may have to get his own next time. His little sister who's 7 has always had her own passport and it has never worried him at all!

I just been asked to look into the exact same scenario with Easyjet by a friend. The general consensus within the local staff is that it's ok to travel as per the passport office rules but I'll have a definitive answer tomorrow.

    Re: The Large Suitcase

I would use 2 smaller ones. The check in staff are on a bonus scheme for charging for excess baggage. It isn't worth arguing the toss with them about the case being for 2 people etc.

I've just had it confirmed that children can travel on parents passports within the EU. Regards big suitcases..remember that there is a health and safety limit of 32kg. I advise using a large suitcase to be maybe 20+kg and use a handbaggage trollybag for the rest. Easyjet have no limit on handbaggage weight as long as you can safely place in bag in the overhead locker yourself. The bag must also fit the the cage at check-in. You can always ask for it to be put in the hold anyway at the gate.

Thanks for that! I tried phoning Easyjet and all I got was recorded messages! However it did say at one point you must have a vaild passport and that is what we have!

    Thanks again

We travel with Easyjet about every six weeks and have never had any luggage problems. I noticed that a few weeks ago from Gatwick they were making people put their handluggage into the metal cage to check it was within their size limits, they were quite strict about this. As far as checked in luggage I would probably take two pieces rather than one large. It's not Easyjet that have a problem it the baggage handlers that won't lift anything over about 30kg.
    Have a good trip
