non paying parents

I first applyed to the CSA in march 97 and thousands of letters and calls later im still to recieve a payment.
My daughter is now 13 yrs old n he decided to get in touch summer 09 with the CSA and demand a DNA test which me and my daughter attended and it proved he is her father.
Now 6 months later im still without a penny from him as all the direct debits he has set up he has gone on to cancel.
The next step is a deductions of his earnings which i think should of been done from the start...who do i complain to about the lack of assistance from the CSA..?
Surely now with concrete evidence that he is her father there MUST be something the CSA can do to expediate the whole matter?

Any advice would be gratefully recieved.

    Thanks for the link:cool:
  • Hi Sash,
Has your case been open all this time, do you know? If so, your ex may wind up with a very nasty arrears bill in his post. (that will give him a bee in his bonnet!)

I don't believe that you can proceed to ICE (posted above) just yet, as you need to go through the complaints procedures within the CSA itself to allow them the opportunity to sort things out.

My ex stopped paying and the CSA did a DEO which worked great for a couple of years.

In the past 12 months I've had reason to complain due to CSA incompetetance and I wrote to my local MP and asked him to get involved, which worked and I'm now getting somewhere. I've also been awarded 2 lots of payments due to their errors (both for £100)

The best advice I can give is to keep asking questions of fellow posters on this forum as there is so much knowledge. I have learned so much and had my eyes well and truly opened.

Good luck! Best thing I can say is don't give up - you have every right to have financial support for your child from the father.

hi and thanks for your reply...yes my case has been open since march 1997 (my daughter was born oct 1996) and he was actually in the army then up until 2000.
Ive supplyed CSA with his whereabouts several times including this time when i typed his name in google..!!!
over the wk end ive filed a complaint to the CSA, ICE and also ive written to my local MP so fingers crossed the ball wil start rolling...!
Ive even spoken the "the absent one" as were in touch by phone and he informedd me he he cant do anything about it as he is in cape town on his holiday...!! (he only returned from new york last month) i feel this is a liberty as he is thousands in arrears and can holiday several times a yr, i am not in that financial position as im raising my child without financial support!!!
thank you for taking the time to reply..sasha..
  • Sounds like you have it under control, good luck and keep us all posted. If I can say one thing, be very patient. These things seem to take for-ever! But, I think you stand a good chance of getting somewhere.

Good for you for not giving up!

No, they don't. If you mean that some 'pay' through not seeing their child/ren, then that would depend on whether they WANT to. If not, and they don't pay, then they do not pay.
