I fully agree that a healthy diet is important and most of the time I think my diet is very good. My mothers cousin, however, only ever ate home made chips, eggs, white bread and butter and tomatos with all seeds removed. She also only ever drank cold water. This lady was as fat as she was tall, led life to the full and has recently passed away aged 84. Make of that what you will.Away with the fairies.... Back soon0

PBS, I think what you have forgotten, for some of us it is all about the money, through sheer bloody necessity & not through choice.

It's already been explained in this thread that it shouldn't be about money, as anyone with severe debts will already have a (quite large) allowance for food built into their repayments.
In Poland, there are families that can barely afford to feed their children. Our country simply isn't wealthy enough to hand out benefits and tax credits - but in the UK? No-one should have to feed their child unhealthy food! Anyway - lack of money is no excuse for not eating heathily. From Poland...with love.

I sometimes have to resort to counting the grapes in my wine... :rotfl:

Personally i just try and eat a lot of veg with stuff which i try and grow myself and steer clear of processed food.....
lets get a few recipes on this thread for some inspiration i am doing the famous Jocasta innes layered potato thingy (as originally posted by Jenny Jelly years ago) for dinner with some leftover veg......Every Penny's a prisoner :T0 -

Come on you've been reading this thread. Fruit juice only counts as 1 no matter how much you have.:T:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

PBS, I have no debt, I am not eligible for any benefits, I simply do not earn enough to eat the diet you prescribe.
I'll pop back on this thread, when everyone is allowed an opinion, rather than having to agree with PBS, good luck Mark.

Well the kids and I discuss at the evening meal how many of our 5 a day we have had and don't really pay any attention to the size of the portion - its the number and variety that count and, being very competitive I don't like losing so if they can jokingly count the strawberries in their *flavoured* yoghurt I can claim the grapes...!!
Did you know that in the states it's the 9 or 10 a day to get them back on the wagon with their obesity figures!!! :eek:Anywhere is within walking distance - if you have the time!!0
