I thought I would add to this thread as I am now in the position that I have been given the dining room to use for crafting and I am currently stripping the wallpaper in preparation for painting. There are a few restrictions in that the dining table, piano and writing desk need to stay in the room. So that means I have to choose a paint colour that ties in 3 different colours of wood and a beige carpet!

Inspirational, vibrant and will match most wood shades.

You can team that with a creamy colour so it's not too overpowering/dark

i dream of a craft room of my own, i am getting huge ikea cupboards in a couple of weeks as i am living in chaos and i need to organise it all better but i hate having to box it all up and put it all away again, my eldest is nearly 17, so hopefully not long till i get a room

I have just re organised my craft shed I have so much stuff and it was a nightmare packing everything up I am on week two now and hopefully get it finished today I sold the huge ikea expedit and replaced it with antonious drawers so that i can get more worksurfaces will try and post pics later once its decent lol

I would love to have it a really rich and vibrant red but I am worried that it will make the room feel very small and dark. It is not a big space and the furniture is quite dark wood (all be it in three different shades!)

I have my sewing machine in my walk in wardrobe in our spare bedroom but there isnt enough room to actually craft in there unfortunately so I have to use the floor of the spare room (which kills my back after a while!). We are moving soon hopefully and OH has agreed that we will buy somewhere with an extra bedroom so I can have a dedicated craft room. Am loving the idea of having somewhere I can make a mess and just go back to it the next day rather than having to clear it all up before I go to bed!!

You just choose one wall as your main 'feature wall' and do that one in a strong colour then do the other walls in a quieter shade. :T

Failing that - what about yellow?

still no craft room for me on the horizon im still at the where ever i can find a place to sit and work stage but i have been good ive sorted through all my crafty stash and sold some bits i havent used so money in the pot for new later lol
