Dial up and ITunes

I only have dial up and can't stay on long enough before being disconnected (BT dial up) to download itunes so my daughter can put her CD's on her ipod touch she got for Christmas - don't want to download any music on line. Any tips or can you get this on a CD Rom?
Thanks

Tried using a download manager to resume the download?0

Is there a library near you? Maybe you can download a copy on there and copy it to your pendrive to take away with you?
Or you can ask a library assistant to help you to transfer it to a CD for you.0 -
OP, can't you get broadband, it must be very inconvenient using dial up.That gum you like is coming back in style.0

My advice would be to try mobile broadband. If you are on dialup due to the lack of internet use in your house then a pay as you go dongle would be more reliable (supposedly) and quicker

Maybe put this thread in the techie forum...?
The best option would probably be borrowing itunes from somebody (old ipods used to be shipped with a CD I vaguely recall) or downloading on another computer. I'm not sure if the Touch has to be registered before you can use it, but if it doesn't, I'm sure you can use another media program (which you could find on a CD from a computer magazine for example) to copy music over... . Somebody else will have better information!0 -

Not necessarily - we can't get broadband due to being connected to an exchange 7 miles away (despite a closer one being less than 2 miles away:mad:)
We use mobile "broadband" to prevent tying up the phone line & it's actually slower than dial up!0 -
Thank you everyone - finally managed to get it downloaded with a download manager - it took a day and a half but we have it up and running now. Unfortunately can't get mobile broadband in my area and was on BT pay and call which didn't support broadband but they have just moved us to a regular phone line so should be able to get broadband in the near future.0
