Which DAB Radio?

Hi.
I am after some information about DAB band radios; I’m hoping some of you on here with knowledge acquired through experience may have some suggestions/recommendations.
I intend to use the radio principally listen to the football on my local station on BBC Stoke 94.6FM, 104.1FM & DAB. I also wish to take it with me to work so must modest in size & weight.
I’m thinking too that it would be better if it had a rechargeable battery pack so I’m not continually replacing the batteries as I hear these radios consume a lot of power.
Also I would like it to have built in speakers so I have the option to listen to it with or without headphones.
All opinions welcome.
Paul.

I recently got 2 DAB radios and to be honest im very dissapointed with both of them !, both suffer from reception problems, one is a Roberts so presumed it one one of the better DAB'S, my advice would be to stick to an FM radio.0 -
Or get one with dab and fm radio0

so quite possibly something to do with your location then rather than either of the setsboth suffer from reception problems0 -
If you are going to be using it at work, and if there's a chance your listening will be interrupted, I would recommend you get a model with the "Rewind" option. (I believe Roberts call it PausePlus, and Pure call it Revu. That way, you can go back several minutes to recapture a vital moment which you have just missed."The trouble with quotations on the Internet is that you never know whether they are genuine" - Charles Dickens0

I echo this.I recently got 2 DAB radios and to be honest im very dissapointed with both of them !, both suffer from reception problems, one is a Roberts so presumed it one one of the better DAB'S, my advice would be to stick to an FM radio.
I've had 3 DAB radios, including a portable. When the signal does degrade, it's all annoying squeaks, hisses and pops.
I got my father a Pure One Mini, at the time it was 30 quid. I'd take a punt at that level, see if you like it, if you want one. It is portable enough, and takes batteries.0 -
We have this one:

I am quite surprised at all these people that have DAB reception problems. We have a Panasonic micro system with both DAB and FM tuners and get perfect reception on both, and the radio is situated inside a cupboard.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £17,496.340

We've never had any problems at home, but when we go to Cornwall we find it hard to get a decent reception.0

After lots of online research have just bought the Pure One Elite with a chargePak from Amazon. Great little radio. Superb reception (nr Brighton, Sussex), very easy to use and, as I am disabled with mobility and dexerity problems, the buttons and dial are very user friendly and set-up is easy. Would definitely recommend it. I would also recommend investing in the chargePak (about £30.00) so you don't have to mess around with batteries. Once charged (about 4 hours) they say it lasts about 35 hours and is always re-charging when the radio is plugged into the mains again. Absolutely delighted with mine, as you can probably tell from this message.0
