Which DAB Radio?

Pure blow Roberts out of the water. If you're after DAB, go with Pure, and if you can afford it, go for one of the evoke models.0

I wouldn’t I have very bad dab reception and no freeview reception I live in SurreyAbbafan1972 wrote: »I am quite surprised at all these people that have DAB reception problems. I have 1 Pure DAB which offers much better reception that another brand I trialled. Although it works well it only gets 100% signal quality upstairs. Anything below about 97% sig quality and it starts to sound dodgy. So it's the last DAB radio I will buy (I also know that DAB does not work on trains and in cars there are no cheap standard car radios taking standard aerials). If you can get good FM reception of the stations you need now, I would stick with a cheap FM radio or even use your phone's radio.
[ having said all that Tesco's DAB-907, if you can find one in stock, apparently has FM and is £25, hard to go wrong choosing this? ]0 -
Thanks for all the replies your advice has given much more understanding of DAB’s. I think given the varied reviews I will try and get hold of the Tesco DAB-907 Mono DAB Radio although on the site it is displayed as temporarily out of stock.
This radio covers all of my requirements as it is portable and is mains or battery powered; I just hope that I don’t experience the poor reception that people have talked about.

The Tesco Extra stores might have one, the reviews seem OK

I'd recommend a Pure One Classic with the optional chargepak. Amazon had a decent offer on them the other day.

That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
I was for a moment tempted with the PURE ONE Classic as from Amazon it is only £12.81 more than the Tesco DAB-907. I didn’t anticipate that the C6L ChargePAK would be so pricey. It’s nearly as much as the radio itself and takes the complete cost up to approximately £70.00 which is a bit extortionate for my needs.0

Agreed, however if you intend to run your DAB off batteries you should factor in the cost of replacing them, DAB radios are very heavy on batteries, and six C cells which the Pure takes can cost around aound £6.00 or more.
Also I very much doubt that the Tesco radio performs as well as the Pure, but I may be wrong. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -

The PURE Move does have the ChargePAK built-in which is useful although again it’s very dear at £60+, £35 more than the Tesco model.0
