Another offer to trap the unwary.
Once they have you on Talk and Broadband they will offer to transfer you to their network, from where you can never escape.

Sky have there own broadband and telephony network which is completely independent of BT, apart from the copper from the exchange to your house.
If you take broadband and phone services from them on an unbundled exchange then they will offer to transfer you to their new network. Once there you won't be able to move to a different broadband ISP without moving your telephone back to BT.
This could well cost you £125.

  • But don't you pay your line rental to BT which means that your not completely unbundled?

I keep my line rental with BT to maintain some degree of independence.
Got £24 off the annual line rental by just asking this year!
If you take Sky talk and pay Sky for line rental then you may be moved over.
Some people ignore /don't get Skys letters/emails and don't find out they have been transferred over 'til its too late.

I used to be paranoid about Sky but now I know thy are out to get me!:D

I am on talktalk at the mo for phone & broadband.

Have sky TV & was thinking of moving phone & broadband to them.

As phone is not with BT now, should I leave line rental where it is?

    Thanks

If your broadband and calls with Talk Talk are LLU then you cant move your broadband to Sky. You will have to go back to BT first.

Been with Sky TV / Sky Broadband / Sky Talk Line Rental for over 2 years now!

Never had any problem with Sky and my bills are much cheaper than having the same or similar services with BT.

Just my two pence worth :)

I'd previously had the free evenings and weekend calls package and mobile saver which was free on a 12 month contract only paying £11.50 or so line rental, when the 12 month contract was up gave them a ring and got £24 off for renewing.
