http://www.firstcallmotorbreakdown.co.uk/
I've been with them for four years in total (I had a 1 year gap where I'd bought a brand new car that came with a year's breakdown cover). I always get their UK Cover package which includes roadside, onward destination and home assistance. With my old banger of a car I called them out for the radiator over-heating, the exhaust falling off and something that, as a woman, is beyond my brain capabilities to understand. Each time they came within the hour and after my initial call to them telling them the problem, I seem to remember they rang me back to give me an indication of how long they'd be. They've always been friendly on the phone, be that for a call out or for renewing my cover with them. I remember when they couldn't fix my car they towed it to my (yes my choice!) garage and then took me home too and the guy waited till I was inside my hallway before driving off.
Just three warnings: max number of call outs per year is 6 and they won't come within the first 48 hours of cover (to stop people scamming them for a cheap tow!) and it is strictly breakdowns (locking keys in car, running out of fuel, car stuck in snow don't count). But all these are clearly stated on their website, along with what is covered of course!

Regarding hats; if winters continue like this I think the perception will change, but we've just not had a hat culture for so long. Keep warm and safe.0 -

Stuart I am passed (or is that past?) caring what I look like in the snow, my hat has ears, that cover my ears, keep me warm and look rediculous - who cares? Not me!:p
Whilst walking the dog today saw so many people dressed in just jeans, thinish tops and shoes:eek:. What on earth is the matter with people - dress warm stay safe!! Listen to me sounding like an old fart!

I got a parking ticket today:eek:For parking in a council car park, covered in snow, I bought a ticket £3.50:eek:, when I returned to the cr I had a yellow sticky on the window £40 fine for not parking within the designated area therefore covering two spaces - erm I could not see the designated area - the tarmac was not visiable nor the lines due to the snow:mad:. I took piccies on my mobile and will be writting a letter saying in no uncertain terms that I will NOT be paying:mad:.
