Birdie, have a mini coughing fit when she comes near you. Say in between coughs, "somethings just got down my throat, have you just had a fag?"
At work i would just tell them they stink (no offence to smokers!), because they could all take a joke and there was only 5 of them out of about 70 other people lol, might be tricky in a smaller office, especially if you dont have a chatty/friendy relationship with them.

I'm sure you'll find something soon Dinah, enjoy being allowed to try them on in the meantime :D

ETA: Just done a really quick survey for £1, but min payout is £10, so im 10% of the way there :rotfl:and done 2 surveys for GlobalTestMarket, but cant remember what min payout is with them. I think last time i had any money from them was about 2years ago!

I wish I could be as brave as Cinny and tell her not to come close to me because she smells! The chap who works in the office next to ours came in before and said, 'Ooooh, I can smell fags!' and the woman just laughed and said 'Yes, because I've just had one' but it doesn't seem to have struck a chord... hmmmm. OH says I should get an air freshener that says for smoke smells really obviously so she gets the hint!

    Off to stalk LPS!

Studies have shown babies whose parents or carers smoke, even if they smoke outside, are up to 12x more likely to develop asthma or lung problems or develop slower than other children. This is because the chemicals don't just go in the smokers lungs or in the air, but cling to the skin and clothes. And yet there are still people who try to argue passive smoking doesn't exist!

You want to hear my Mum hack up her guts every morning and use that as proof of the effects of passive smoking! She's never smoked but her Mum was on 40 a day since the age of 15, never even stopped or cut down during pregnancy (as they generally didn't back then) and my Mum has crummy lungs as a result!

What makes me laugh is when some of the women I work with say that it is their only vice so let them have it... so why are they overweight? Or is overeating not a vice?!

  • Oh no, that doesn't bode well for me, my parents both smoked when I was little, my mam in smoked during pregnancy I think (so much for it stunting your growth!)

I had planned to get the £60 No7 set but they were gone, and I saw a woman with 4 of them. I know everyone is entitled to take what they want but it's still irritating when you're the one who missed out!

You live in Bristol don't you?? Just seen this from the boots thread. Thought it was a big of a coincidence!

I've never even been in one of their shops because the smell makes me feel sick, am I an grumpy old woman?!

Lol, no, maybe you just have a very sensitive nose!

I find the smell of smoke it much worse in winter when it's all cold outside and people come inside in a cloud of cold and smoky air. Blerg.

I'm still not totally convinced that pubs should be completely non-smoking, but I don't miss washing my hair the morning after a night out and smelling all the smoke come out of it. Now pubs and clubs just smell of man fart. Gross!

Went wedding dress shopping this morning, tried on 5, disliked 4, one was okay, this one. It was fine, but it was nothing that blew my socks off.

I'm sure you'll find 'the one' soon - isn't it an average of 13 dresses a woman tries on before they find the right one? And it's never what you're expecting.

Btw, I loved that first Pronovias dress that you posted a week or so again, it was beautiful and v unusual.
