iPhone and Bluetooth ??
I have a Ford Mondeo with a bluetooth car kit built into the stereo.
Im thinking of getting a iPhone and just wondered if anyone has a similar setup and has used the iPhone through the stereo to make calls etc, wondering if it works ok ?
I have heard reports of the iPhone bluetooth not being very good ??
Many Thanks

Hello,
I have the IPhone and the Bluetooth that it has is working on a different wavelength than all other mobiles and most equipment. You will probably find that it will only connect to apple products.
You can just purchase a FM transmitter off Ebay for very little and it will then play through your car stereo.
Hope this helps:oCurrent Debt £38,000:o

A friend of mine has the iPhone, his bluetooth connects perfectly to his Kenwood head unit for hands free.0

I have a Ford Fiesta with the Ford Audio bluetooth. I used it with a Sony mobile, then a Nokia 5800 and now my iPhone. It connects without any problem. No need for a separate bluetooth set.0

HUH?
Bluetooth is a worldwise standard, if the iphone supports bluetooth then it will connect, If apple want to use different frequencies they cannot call it Bluetooth or use the Bluetooth logo.
There are different profiles for Bluetooth, so it may be it will do calls and voice dialing, but may not stream the audio, but at the very least you will beable to make calls, exactly what depends on wha tthe phone and car kit support.0 -

Just hooked up car with a pioneer deh-P7100BT (a fairly decent top end player) and use it to connect with my iphone via BT
Observations :
Bluetooth works lovely for making/recieving phone calls
Bluetooth A2DP works well
Control of your iphone via your headunit & Bluetooth : Non-existent, allegedly apple have implemented the bluetooth remote control standard (can't remember what it's called) but only for play, pause and stop! However I have yet to get this working, control has to be via the iphone
Apple has locked down the bluetooth remote control side of things , however that said my iphone works well with this headunit and the sound quality is good.
