Judi, you can do it...don't prolong the misery. Imagine in 8 months, you will be debt free, and have 1K to play with a month, without debt. I know it is depressing, payday just isn't a treat when you have big targets. But payday will be super lovely in 7 months time!
Good work on getting some interest free, that is going to make a difference...you could save the month you would pay off that card and then pay it all off in one lump sum, you may make a bit of money in interest, not much the way things are, but it may be a little.

Thanks - I know your right Dot - Just having and off day - I need to keep at it - it will be amazing to be debt free. I just need to focus. It just gets me down when all I can think of 2 days after payday is next payday!!!0

I am very much the same, and it is pretty depressing!Pay off as much as you can in 2012 challenge No. 64: 328.75/2,5000 -
So after a bit of a depressing day I thought it was about time to take stock and try to kick myself into touch!
Things to be thankfull for:
1. 4 wonderfull kids - drive me insane and cost me a fortune but I love them to bits!
2. Good job in a relatively safe industry which I love - with the possibility of much higher salaray in the future
3. Nice house - needs some work doing to it- but all cosmetic and can wait til I'm debt free
4. Loving Partner - although I moan about him and he certainly could be more supportive - especially financially - he is my soul mate and I couldn't be without him
5. My health - overweight yes - but generally healthy - I see so much suffering and tragedy - but sometimes I still forget how lucky I am!
6. Managable debt - My current financial state is good compared to many on here - I can service my debt with at least £1000 a month - and although I moan about it and find it hard not to buy the kids things - I am really lucky cos I can afford my house and food and the basics with a few extras thrown in
7. I am going to centreparcs in a week - its paid for so just spend to sort now
8. Being supported by work to do my doctorate - lots of work but I kind of enjoy it in a perverse way
9.Going to the pub tonight for a pint and OH is paying!
10. Not long til summer!
Ok was very easy to find 10 things to be thankfull for! :j

Had a bit of a melt down last night when OH came home - I suppose I had been miserable all weekend that even though payday was only last week I couldn't go out and spend anything cos my budget is very tight. He was asking what I had left and I was telling I have £1400 on the Barclaycard and the rest is interest free on the Santander CC - He said he would help me next month and pay £400 with me paying the £1000 so that should be cleared at the end of March!!!!0

Keep going judi24, you are doing great, luckily my kids are 8 and 3, so I don't have the same issues as you, not looking forward to that at all. Thanks for the replies on my thread.0

Hi! Your diary caught my eye as I'm also fat, forty and fedup! I'm a mother of three boys 15, 17 and 20 year olds!
I've also had them rolling home drunk and throwing up after a party (well, only the eldest two so far but the youngest's turn will probably come!). In my experience, they feel so rotten the next day........they don't do it again in a hurry!
The partners staying over issue hasn't arisen here yet, but I'd probably agree with you on that one.
Good luck with the diet, I'm going to try and start afresh tomorrow :ATotal debt at LBM £26k+Total debt now £16,494.40Tesco CC 11/2/11 Total - £1,387.20 - Now £00
