I was paying £21 a month for BT phone and Broadband because I use a different call service to pay for my calls. I now have been charged £45 a month. Why the big increase? Have their rental charges increased?

No significant changes recently.
Log on to your BT account on their website and check to see what's happening on your account.

I have had the same problem, the bill is dated 2 days before my next payment is due out so only showing 2 months of Direct debits paid, so its showing a debit figure of more than it should so my payments payments have now been put up!!! I have no confidence that if i phone up it will be sorted as another query i had a few months ago wasn't sorted as promised.
They seem to think as well that if one quarter is a bit higher then its going to be the trend for the next year so put up payments when in our case its a one off and we knew about it. As i'm paperless billing i get no notification that the payments have changed until i look at my bill online. We love what we are doing and we love why we're doing it!!0 -

You can ask BT to switch you to Whole Bill Direct Debit, and then you only pay what you owe them ,with no guesstimates of possible use.0
