apologies ticklemouse
you must mandate your salary before you qualify for the bonus.
fatboy, yeah i work in the banking centre in glasgow. love it. been there since july 03, part time training at the moment to become a team manager.0 -
Well I have had a regular saver for a month and had heard about this £40 offer so I went in on the 31st to get it. However I was told I would have to switch accounts. Clearly not everyone has had to do this. My understanding was you had to credit the account (with your salary) NOT close your exisiting account. If I did that I would lose an online saver linked to it and a generous overdraft facility (which abbey said they could match, but for how long?). Also I wanted to trial Abbey first, based on the problems others have shared on this board
Anyway it seems abbey are applying the rules in a haphazard manner and I was turned down as soon as I said I didnt want to switch. I hadn't even given my name, so it wasn't for any other reason. Needless to say I have complained to abbey, but I am not holding my breath for a reply. It's (another) big 0/10 for abbey from me!0 -
I dont have a salary as such but i wonder if they would class a cheque from a third party as my 'salary'?This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

BTW the offer is now CLOSED (as of the 31st of January)0

Yep the offer is closed, but there is a new offer, Abbey will give you £50 if they make a mistake during your switch.
Davidc: glad you love it! I'm not too happy with the sales aspect of working in the branch, but am looking to move into the complaints dept in MK. What photo are you putting on your debit card?0 -

Well I have to say abbey's email customer services have been good. After a little explaining that i missed out due to their mistake they have extended the offer to me. I always complain when things are wrong, but I always say thankyou when things are rectified.0 -
glad to hear it lipidicman.
