Cancelling / reducing sky package

I have a sky+ hd box and a sky+ box in another room. I would like to cancel or at least reduce my sky subscription. What is the cheapest package I can have to keep the sky+? Do I need to carry on paying the multiroom subscription to get sky+ on the second box?

The absolute cheapest you can reduce to is £10 per month. This will give you "FreesatFromSky" only, plus the Sky+ recording and playback facilities. It will cost an additional £10 per month to keep the same on a second Sky Digibox.

It is MOST important that you specifically state what you want IN WRITING at the time of cancelling. If you phone up, you'll first be enticed into continuing your subscription with a sweetener of free movies for a month or two. If you manage to refuse that, you are likely to go through full cancellation and be left with no recording or playback.

Note that you will not be able to play back any recordings from encrypted channels. So watch them or dump onto DVD before writing that letter!

Due to redundancy (whatever) I can no longer afford a subscription so I need to reduce to the minimum but retain the option to return when funds permit.

Therefore I want to reduce BOTH packages to the minimim £10 per month, which I understand will leave me with just the "Freesat" package AND the Sky+ recording facilities on both Digiboxes.

Obviously, if you want more than the absolute minimum package, word it accordingly. The second Digibox will still be an extra £10 per month.
