Not much going on here - Friday was another :money: day. Went to the car park after work and the machine was not working so I was told to pay at the exit (I pay by debit card) but when I got to the exit the system was down so they let me out for free :j. Saving of £3.

Spent Saturday making up 2 chest of drawers and 2 bedside cabinets - so want the wardrobes so we can finally sort this bedroom. Saturday night we had a quiz which was good fun but we came last

Yesterday we were at home all day, I was tidying bits and pieces and DH was finishing the cat run - we have taken down the summer house, moved the cat run to where it was and then DH will extend his shed.

Our turkey chicks are hatching now ready for Xmas so they are in the temporary cat run with the door blocked off.

Forgot to say before that our final 3 sheep went off to sluaghter a few weeks ago and between them they weighed 95kg so we have enough meat to last us a while :rotfl:

Last Sundays roast was leg of lamb and yesterday's was lamb mince pie - Yum Yum!!

Have spoken to Tax Credits as benefits are wrong as they have DH's income higher than it is so hopefully we will get more money this week.

Need to pay for DS' space school trip - have to send paperwork by 17/5 so will hold out until then and hope I have the money

WOW where did you get those from! How lovely to know where your christmas dinner is coming from! Although i'm not sure I could have something like that and it not become a 'pet' and therefore I don't know if I could eat it?!

Wowzer! That's a lot of meat! You should do swapsys with someone who has a freezer full of cow or chicken :rotfl:

Renewals are sent between April and end of May - if you look at the award notice from last year it is will give figures for this year as well. Once the renewal is in you might get more.

The turkey chicks have hatched from our own eggs - we keep a breeding stock of 4 stags and 15 females and then we hatch about 25 chicks to either sell as chicks or to rear on for Xmas and then we sell.
They are not really pets because they are so ugly :rotfl:

I did post some pictures last year of the turkeys - will see if I can find them (they were posing in Mooloo's turkey saddles she made for us!!)

I am not worrying about Space School - the money will be found
  • Watch we will all want a pet turkey!

Cheque has been sent to Space School but I only have £130 in my account and have to pay £410 plus £20 for us to have a gorgeous buffet on the last day when we collect DS.

Hmmm £130 doesn't quite cover it does it:rotfl:

Payday is not until 31/5 for both of us so can't use that money, never mind it will all work out soon.

We have sold some turkey chicks so we have even less now - we will put another batch of 30 in the incubator soon.

Not much else going on - have made the wardrobes up and with the chest of drawers looks brilliant but we have boxes of stuff that need sorting and we have agreed that what does not fit in the storage space available will have to go - there's going to be loads that gets given/thrown away.
I am fed up of having a messy house with boxes everywhere so I am going to get tough - I even threw some shoes and boots away yesterday as they were past their best.

We are supposed to be having our conifers taken down and a fence put up next weekend but just realised that is before pay day so how we will afford it:eek::rotfl:
  • I'm also on the countdown to pay day................!

Space School has been paid for - I raided DH's account which got me up to £230 and the borrowed £200 from a friend which will need paying back on pay day

Managed to get the conifers down and the fencing done - withdrew £120 from Credit Union (I save £20 pm as a token gesture as I recommend it to clients as a way of saving and should practice what I preach) but turned out the cost was only £60 :T

Friends popped in on Sunday and helped and now the fencing looks lovely. Just need to put up some 12ft gates (length) and the truck can be hidden in the back garden to stop the thieving blighters stealing the catalytic converter!!

Purchased the fencing on DH's business trade account so can pay that when the bill comes in.

The other £60 went on a tool to dig the post holes (£20), petrol £20 and food £20 which just about got us through the weekend.

I have done the unthinkable - I have activated an old credit card and have used it for some purchases
I am so disappointed in myself but did not feel I had any other choice - I have only brought the bare minimum - I have brought 2 x shopping (£25 total) and got diesel for the truck (£25).

Payday is tomorrow - they pay us a day early :T

So will pay off the extra purchases on the credit card as do not want the debt increasing.

Need to sort the debt asap - DH still paying token payments of £1 to each of his and surely this can't go on too long - I think he needs to go bankrupt but I have not broached the subject since he agreed to it but now he has a temp job he might not be so keen.

We have so much to do in the house and it needs doing asap - hopefully can get the plastering of the landing done some time in June and then in July we can have the carpet laid.

    Hope DH's temp work continues.

Not sure what is happening with budget as not done one and think we are just wasting money - we have limited cupboard space so not much storage - really should do a monthly shop to stop all these little trips to the shop.

I have so much to do here with my committee stuff that I really need to get organised with it instead of spending hours on here.
I am thinking about making myself a timetable.

Bedroom is getting sorted, had a day off yesterday and managed to get loads done - more to be done but will be joint decision with DH.

    Roll on tomorrow :T:j

Well payday came on Thursday :T:T

DH has also been paid from his temp job - more than what he earnt in his previous job and although he had 3 weeks off after he quit his old job he has not had a gap in his wages as old job paid on 25/4 and tempjob paid on 30/5 :T

Will look at doing a budget and doing a monthly shop as we seem to go to the supermarket every week and spend far too much - I am thinking of going to Lidl and stocking up on the basics!

Look away now if you have read my rant on DFW's diary.

As you all know DH has a spending problem - he spends nothing for ages and then buys loads together with mney we don't have .
Last week a battery for his phone arrived - his one has been playing up but it still worked most of the time.

Then another battery turned up

Then a charger for a camera turned up

When I asked DH where they came from - he went bright red and went all silent - this is his 'I am guilty' look - he does it every time, he must think I am thick to not realise!!

I checked ebay and he had only ordered 1 battery so not sure why they sent 2 plus the charger.
I checked his bank account and he had spent some bill money which resulted in his standing orders to debts bouncing (s/o's £1 each - charge about £10each:mad:)

He claimed that he checked his account and saw the money so spent it - I control his money because he can't manage it and of course it was for bills etc.
He clearly did not believe me when I told him we had no money last week (we were scraping by and then I used my credit card  but did not tell him about the c/c).

So now I have transferred £30 to another account of his with a debit card and he can do what he likes with it - he has lottery to pay from his old work place so that will have to come out of there - but he has the rest to do what he likes no questions asked.

I cancelled all the cards and bank accounts linked to Paypal so he can set it up with his 'new' spends account.

Have been busy here with everything - out today to a music event and then DIY tomorrow - such an exciting life I lead :rotfl:
