Hope alls well.
Very tiring and trying time for all of you. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Thanks again everyone for your comments.
Got the flat cleared eventually and felt proud of a job well done until DH said 'but really F-I-L's flat is just in our front room:rotfl:' and I have to agree, there are loads of boxes of stuff in our living room that need to be sorted. The stamp collection was easy - it was just collected and went to auction but hundreds of CD's, vinyls and books is another matter.
Will be working my way through each box and bag and listing what I can on ebay - hopefully I have some free listings.
The key was posted through the office door of the complex manager (voids officer told me I could) and I laughingly joked that I would get a call from the local council asking where it was and lo and behold on Tues I had the call:mad: I'm not sure she believed me and then wanted me to tell her the managers surname as I only knew the first name. I told her I didn't know and surely she should but either way I was not being charged more rent as I had kept to my side of it.
The bill for the final rent has arrived but possibly sent by a different team so not even sure if she has located keys (manager of complex only does 2hrs per day there and these are variable so often difficult to get hold of)
Still tidying the financials up and thanking god that his house was sold a long time ago as less to deal with.
DH sent one of the son's a copy of the will, I offered a copy to the other son and he doesn't want it. So far nothing has been said by the son but as he is outwardly trying to promote himself as a changed person who doesn't get angry we have visions of him ranting at his own home, stomping around while his partner reminds him that he is not to get angry:rotfl:
The line 'I have not provided for my son's in this will as they were provided for in my life time' must have come as a shock.
There isn't a huge amount in the estate anyway after funeral costs, well it depends what the stamps sell for and they aren't going to auction until late March.
In my own MSE news I havent kept up with YNAB and I really need to catch up, this weekend has been planned as a lazy one with no running around (she says after booking a hair appt) and plenty of pancakes as we didnt have time on Tuesday.
Lots of payments from surveys, cashback etc have hit my account which is good as I need to clear my credit card from when I took my friend to London for her 40th the other weekend - that is theatre tickets and hotel stay to pay off. I knew the cashback was coming (only waiting since Aug!!)
Have a weekend away next month also so need to keep saving for spends for that as well.0 -
I think you need a monthful of lazy weekends! Well done you.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0
