I've started to use little drawings instead of words on my labels now.

i LOVE the drawings
they look really great:T
i get buff card and make little luggage labels and tie them on around the nack of the jar with some "rustic" string
i thought i would have had a picture but i dont
this is something i made for someone
but the labels are down the back:o
i dry the lemons myself, so its kinda self explanitory what is inside
and i made the lemon slices of soap too0 -
Those look fab! We're planning to use wooden teaspoons tied on to our hm jam etc this xmas (more as gift tags than labels), and use a pyrography iron to write something suitable - fingers crossed!0

Where do you get wooden teaspoons from?"Men are generally more careful of the breed(ing) of their horses and dogs than of their children" - William Penn 1644-1718
We live in a time where intelligent people are being silenced so that stupid people won't be offended.0 -

I use Avery labels and handwrite them (I pick a nice font on Word and practice), then I print out colour pictures of what fruits are in the jam, cut them out and use glue dots to stick them either side of the label, overlapping.
I also cut circles from gingham material (if you search 'FQ' on ebay there's a good shop that sells 'fat quarters' of all different types of material for a really good price - I also bought some for the back of cushions for my cross stitch projects) and put them over the lid with an elastic band round. They look lovely)

I make labels using the auto shapes in word, i add text and use a fancy font then stretch to the size that i need, add a colour to match the contents and bobs your uncle. Copy and paste to a new document so that you can fit a few on a sheet of A4.
My favourites are the stars and banners ones - particularly the banners for wine bottles.
I print them and cut them out and stick them to the jars/bottles using a cheaper version of a pritt stick - just run around the edges of the labels with it as thats enough, they come off easily with warm water as i ask peeps to save the jars and i reuse them.
Cheap and cheerful and very nice looking too.

I just use stationary labels, currently, the labels in Wilkinsons stationary dept.
Sometimes they need abit of elbow grease to get off, but being as its glass you can always use abit of hot water and wash liquid, its never much of a problem.0 -
I make a nice design on the computer, with colours and picture to match the jam, and print onto sticky labels. They come off easily with a soak in hot water. If I'm over the hill, where was the top?0
