I got bargain cat food today in Pets at Home - it's their own make (which our cats love) on BOGOF which I have never seen it at before - £16.99 for 4kg bag or £9.99 for 2kg bag - I bought 6 of the 4kg bags and only paid for 3. Just thought I'd let you know in case you wanted to try it, well not personally, but you know what I mean!

    I have returned!!

We had a lovely time, although the Travelodge was beside the river and I now have an irrational hatred of geese. Honking barstewards....

We mainly wandered around York, because it's pretty and lends itself to aimless rambling. The only tourist thing we did was go to the museum, which was fab. The queues outside Jorvik were too long for us to wait (In the rain!)

Bargain food was had throughout the trip - Mr Fresian was dubious about Pizza Express (he thought the name meant it would be like Pizza Hut) but we had an amazing dinner there which was 64p per main course thanks to my Tesco vouchers and 30p for my pudding :D We also had a £50 dinner in Bella Italia for £20 (including a £5 tip) so he's converted to the joys of Tesco vouchers now!

    I have returned home to many items of good news in terms of comping;

Received the £50 prepaid card I won
Won three Cineworld tickets (KissJenn, it's time for another movie...)
Won tickets to the Scott Monument in Edinburgh for four people
Won The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus on DVD (WEM received, DVD will take 28 days)

Must dash - think we're off to Aberdeen for the night!

    Yay! She's back! :D

Glad you had a nice time, despite the geese ;)

I have a certificate to prove I've been up that

    Welcome back.

I have an irrational fear of geese even since being chased around the Children's Farm at Edinburgh Zoo when I was three. They have teeth like a velociraptor, hunt in packs and are responsible for countless suspicious deaths (they cover it all up the press though to stop nationwide panic).

    Cinema, woo woo...happy happy KJ.

Mr Fresian would like you to know that he is going to be The Goose Avenger and put together the G-Team, a crack team of goose killers :D

Pick any movie next week that looks less sh*t than Bounty Hunter and you have yourself a date. It doesn't even have to be Orange Wednesday :T

Hi Flying Fresian - glad you had a good time - I love York and we will be going there later in the year - in fact we are staying at the Travelodge too for an absolute bargainous short holiday! Could I ask if you used the car park they recommend with the special daily rate? I think I had falsely remembered free street parking and am trying to have a good time and keep any unnecessary spends to an absolute minimum. :D

Fab news too on all of your competition wins - comping is definitely something I want to get into but the couple of times I visited the thread I got all confused  as I think some of the comps had ended. :o

Also - can't remember if I posted this but the ear-rings you got are amazing. Enjoy the rest of your hols!

We stayed in the central Travelodge and used the recommended carpark. It cost £19.50 for three full days which I didn't think was too bad, especially as the carpark was very secure (You had to swipe your ticket to get in to pick up the car) which is always a plus in a strange city.

If you want, I can send you my ticket for the museum, as it's valid for 12 months for two people so will save you £16 if you were going there anyway.
