    I'm so pleased!

    hope it contains medicinal properties so help ease the snot-fest!

    That will certainly be my excuse when Mr Fresian realises I've eaten three of them already (Out of a possible 12!)

    Hope you're snot free today as the medicinal flapjacks must be a sure fire cure.

    I would still stay at home & nurse yourself though - you don't want to pass this on to fellow workers, do you?

    Take care & will catch up later (at work so I suppose I should show willing........)

    Morning all,

    Still full of snot and yuck feelings so another day off for me. I'm so bored! Not the best patient, me.

    Money

    Being ill makes it easier to have NSDs....I'm up to five for the month now which for me is amazing. No direct debits out today but we need milk and bread, so unless Mr F offers to pay it won't be a NSD for me.

    Spends = £70
    PAD = £25 (And I've managed £5 per day PADs for the last few days, so pleased with that)
    Groceries = £55.43
    Entertainment = £5.10
    Purse = £8

    There are 10 days until payday.

    I've been thinking about my budgeting. I was dubious about working the budget as the challenge started on the 1st of January and I get paid on the 23rd. I could run it from the 23rd to the 22nd, but I spent money that I haven't allocated between 23rd December and 31st January, and I wouldn't want to give a false budget report!

    So, come the 22nd of January when I get paid I'm thinking that I will send the money for the direct debits to Alliance and Leicester as normal. I won't transfer extra money into either the groceries or entertainment accounts until the 1st of February. Although I have only spent £56.32 on Groceries this month so far (Out of a budgeted for £170) I think I can last until the end of the month on what's in the cupboards and freezer and only buy essential fresh food until the budget starts again on the 1st of February.

    Entertainment I will definitely be over budget on, although only by a couple of pounds I think.

    I plan to leave any extra money in either budget in the account, whereas I used to PAD this money. This means that I can save it for larger expenses - in groceries this would be a Costco trip or stocking up on a good buy on something more expensive. In entertainment terms this would be concert tickets or similar. I suspect that when the Edinburgh Fringe comes to town I will spend around £150-£200 which is normal spending for me at that time of year. My entertainment budget for the whole year is £360 :eek:

    Plans for today are to hang up washing, sort the kitchen and find something to have for dinner with minimal effort involved.

    Washing done.

    Kitchen almost done.

    Dinner shall be corn beef hash (Something I have never made before, but which means I'm not cooking more expensive freezer meat and will help to use up the two bags of tatties I bought in Morrisons @ 30p each!)

    The living room is almost tidy as well - it must be the energy from all the oaty goodness. Now I've sat down I'm bloody shattered though - medicinal tea and telly for the afternoon methinks!

    Email from Quidco confirming that my cashback from our car hire pre-Christmas has been validated following me chasing them :D That's another £11.22 for me! Quidco totals are currently:

    Tracked - £131.01
    Validated - £22.08
    Received - £6.55

    I have received over £260 since joining last year, which is small compared to many, but I don't have a car to insure and won't be moving my contract from Orange since I haggled them to death months ago! Mr Fresian may find himself being tarted around mobile providers for a while though!

    Wow that's brilliant! My Quidco cashback currently stands at about £3.60!
    Not a lot really but hopefully this will increase after hearing about the LOVEFiLM cashback from you!
