    Afternoon all

had to go out and spend money today- needed to top up gas meter, have tried to be economical but when the temp in the kitchen is only 6 C its time to put the heating on.
I've been thinking of getting a small chest freezer as running out of space in existing one, full of stuff thats either batch cooked or frozen before it went out of date. We have a local centre where when the Council take your old white goods away, they get them working again and sell them with a 12 month warranty. So may go there when the weather is better.

Had a bit of a fright when I looked at the totals on the budget sheet, I am more than half way through this months budget, then realised that I've only used 1/5 of the grocery budget so am on track so far.

P.S can anyone tell me what I can use the ornament in the corner of my kitchen for? Its got a plug on it and its called a microwave :p it was put on top of the fridge/freezer 6 months ago and has gathered dust since!

My son persuaded me to buy it, used it for a while then he took it into work as they have no cooking facilities. Then he brought it home. One day I will find a use for it.

Back to work today. A friend and I shared a taxi (£2.50 for what normally takes us 15 mins to walk:eek:) as we didn't fancy the still trecherous walk down steep hill. After reading about SF I'm really glad we did. (((((((((hugs)))))))))))) for SF, hope you're soon feeling better - take care.

No new snow here, but it's very icy, not good as it's also very hilly.

Here are some pics of school today.

I'm intending to eat pitta bread this week from a vacuum sealed packet that went out of date in September '09. What does "out of date" mean? (not a lot to me!!!)
I frequently use stuff like that, so long as it isn't actually green! But have now got some pitta that has been opened and I forgot to freeze the extra straight away so need to think of a use for it. What do you reckon to cutting it up and putting it in the oven and using it like tortilla chips with chilli - smashing recipe that only uses 200g mince :D - Or should I just write off the cost ........ 5p

Thanks everyone, just feeling sorry for myself. I'll see how it is tomorrow morning - I don't think I fancy walking down there again though!

Thanks, feel a bit better now. Sitting on the couch (had the benefit of resulting in another NSD) with my waterbottle crocheting a cover for it:). Finally also found the cat, she manages to hide for hours god knows where, the flat isn't even that big. She's out in the snow now.

    Hope you feel better slowlyfading.
