Glenda do join in, I know exactly how you feel but I've thrown myself in and everyone's lovely
flippin36 Have you included insurances/household maintenance anywhere? Or are they included in the other categories?
Kittikins I've signed up for BG's "Energy Smart". It's a bolt-on to your existing tariff, i.e. you still pay the same amount. In theory you get a free energy-monitor (mine hasn't arrived yet) and if you save £110 by reducing consumption over the next 12 months they'll give you another £40. You're not committed to staying for 12m, only that you won't get the £40 cashback if you move away before then.
xnatalie81x Brilliant news about the free publicity! Feel free to PM me your website link - I haven't the faintest idea but my sister will take a look - her 7m old daughter is learning to swim, she is sooo cute :j
MushyPeas I assume anything will freeze until I hear/experience otherwiseThere's also a handy thread on OS if I really want to check Freezing - Tips and Quick Questions thread
thriftylass Hope you feel better soon
grandma247 Like flippin36's mum I use the free papers to fill the freezer if my batch cooking is running low.

Well I'm back from our snowy adventures!!! It really wasn't to bad out there as we live opposite a fire station. All the firemen have cleared the road to and pavements to the main road so they can get their fire engine out for emergancys so the majority of the walk was pretty safe.
There is still barely anyone out and about though and a lot of the snow is still untouched and the whole town looks so pretty and peacefull like it should be on a tin of biscuits or an old chocolate box.
Tesco's was really quiet, we grabbed 6 pints of milk for £1 because milk is pretty scace here and I can freeze it into 2 pint portions if I recycle our old bottles. OH brought 2 games for his buissness that were on offer for £9 each but one went through as £12 so he got £6 back, so they only cost him £7.50 each. He was pretty chuffed.
I'm going to have a sit down and watch the new episode of kill it,cook it,eat it on i player and then I'm going to sort out a pile of baby clothes to wash and empty the baby clothes drawer so they have somewhere to live lol. At the moment all the baby stuff is dumped in the cot but with 10 weeks left its time to get organising I think.

Afternoon everyone.
Fell down on the way to school this morning, down a flight of stairs, so my back is now really painful, and as I whacked my head as well, got a banging headache. These last couple of days have not been good!
The school was open for years 10 to 13 and all staff - I don't teach any of those years so my mentor sent me home at lunchtime, as I was, and still am, in quite a bit of pain
I spent £1.35 on a bus ticket back to the edge of the campus, as the thought of walking back up the steep hill was making me quite nervous, so I thought it was better for me if I got the bus. So, not a NSD for me today, but think I can just about justify it.
bails - lovely to see you x x
thriftylass - take care of yourself, and keep warm. x xBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

(or, sadly, is it only me

Signsofrecovery, this is way out of date now but just to reassure you that this is quite normalI'm sure most of us at some point had the urge to splurge to counterbalance all the frugalling, but it does pass. In time, you'll find the satisfaction of NOT spending has the same buzz as spending used to
