:T WELL DONE YOU! That's really fantastic, the extra income will be well deserved and I hope you can find a great use for it :)

Thank you. I start on Saturday (working in a shop), I have been told it will be really quiet and to bring book :j. Have got a few moneysaving type books that I can browse, so hopefully I can educate myself whilst earning :p. The door is open all day so I have to dress with lots of layers (very hard to look smart with lots of layers, I look like the mitchilin woman going for a job interview :o) I'm going to use my slow cooker to make some hot soup to keep warm.

Shaz I just did 2x2 rib all the way down. Easy. Gathered up all the stitches with the thread for the toe.

    Good morning to you all!

The cheapest O2 could do was £10 a month, for that I get 75 anytime mins , unlimited O2 to O2 minutes (OH, Mum & Sis are O2) and unlimited texts. Plus a new Nokia 6303 (I'm not into fancy phones, just a basic Nokia does me)

Also they offered me a free Bluetooth car kit and a laptop broadband dongle, which the advisor hinted I could give away or sell on ebay.

So, I have reduced my monthly bill (£15 a month to £10 a month) and also got a new phone. I am in contract, but I never use my landline so I do need a phone for calls….

Hope you all have a fab day...

pps SkintJenny - good luck at the CAB x

Sounds like you got a decent deal. My old provider (Vodafone) used to offer me great deals once I had asked for a PUK code. The trouble was that they would never offer them for the full term of the contract. There would always be a few months at the end at the full rate. Also, I came to realise that the only reason I used many of the minutes that I had was because they were there. I calculated that I could easily manage on 100 minutes and a few texts each month and that includes business usage. So I bought a new phone (the old one has insufficient memory) and signed up with Asda. 8p per minute all times and networks. 4p for texts. I've been with them since November 3rd (just over 2 months) and in that time, I have used about £13. Asda use the Vodafone backbone so if you can get a signal with Vodafone you can get one with Asda.
If you want the minutes, a low priced contract like yours is great. If you can manage on a lot less talktime, Asda PAYG looks like the cheapest option. I often didn't use all my minutes on contract so it could get wasteful.

I didn't get a fine (as far as I could see!) but I was fuming! Just have to be extra careful in future...

You should have seen BFs face yesterday ;). Thought I'd be frugal and start making the brussel sprouts we forgot to take along to the christmas dinner into work lunches for me as I didn't want to throw them out and I'm the only one who likes them. So I made a version of bubble and sqeak. Just the thought of having to eat that sent a shiver down his spin, ah bless.

Tonite I'll get the first T3sc0 delivery of the year. The largest I had so far but I stocked up on loads of things like shampoo and cat food that was on offer and other household items that had ran out.

Had another two NSD, so far so good :)

measured the snow, 10 inches and still snowing, just done one of the hen houses, 3 more to go, opened the door, usually I have to stand back as many fly out, not today, only four have ventured out and then not very far. Off to do the next house of 80 birds. The A3 is closed, it's less that half a mile from where we are and I've just been told that 28 cars are abandoned in the village, no doubt on the hill.

danielley that was a great deal! A few days ago I contacted O2 and changed my OH onto the £10/mth tariff as he doesn't use his phone much but I didn't get him a new phone! I may try and get them to do this now using your example. I can only ask!

    Morning everyone :)

Got up at 7am this morning to find out that the school I'm placed in is closed today :j didn't really manage to get back to sleep though, but never mind. I'm so glad its not open today - it means, in theory, that I should be able to get an essay done and more lesson planning. I had yesterday afternoon off as well though and it didn't go to plan... :o

I'm aiming for another NSD today - I don't think I'll be going anywhere very much, as everywhere is really icy.

Had a bit of a annoyed moment this morning - if you live on campus, you are not allowed to park your car on it between the hours of 8am and 6pm. Normally, when I'm at school, I've left by 8am so it doesn't matter. But, the last two days I've not been able to move the car - but then this morning the ticket man was lurking, so I ran down quickly to explain. All he says is "You've had since monday night to move it - not my problem." So, I clear off all the snow and move my car - down a very steep hill to get off campus which I slid down a bit. grrr. that man is such an idiot! Two of my housemates got parking tickets for £30. I know normally it would be alright as it is your own fault for parking there, but trying to move cars when it's just thick ice in the car park and down the hill to get off campus is mad. Really annoyed me this morning!

Have a good day everyone, I'll be back on later no doubt :)

Thats really daft that you can't park your car on campus - I would contact the uni and see if they can cancel the tickets. Point out that you risked your life and other students by driving in that weather - make a big do out of it, you have nothing to lose and your housemates might get their money back.
There are many things in life that will catch your eye, only a few will catch your heart. Pursue those.

Having another NSD and snowed in day today:rolleyes:I'm not usually such a woos and will go out in it but my freind has fallen on ice, whilst on hols in Scotland and at first they thought she'd damaged her coccyx, but now she has lost all feeling below her waist, so is awaiting an MRI scan :eek:It's very worrying as she has a young DD:o
Anyway it's curry for tea tonight, in the meantime I am trying to get my holiday taxi refended due to the flight delay:rolleyes:
