I've been into town.
Got the groceries done, spent a bit more than my weekly budget but my cupboards were bare as well as the freezer so I've had to stock up a bit.
Rang the butcher but the guy I need to speak to isn't in till tomorrow so I shall try again then. I have no real idea what its going to cost me. I'm hoping between £200-£300.
shaz how have you managed to have so much food? I feel a bit like Old Mother Hubbard at the moment!0 -

Bits of banana are always good because they can mush down nicely and are naturally sweet, and skips are good as they melt in the mouth. Though some people don't like their littles having junk food so young. Also a choccy button is always good lol

Hi,
There is a weekly meal plan thread on Oldstyle that you might find helpful?
I guess it depends what kind of food you like to eat. I try to do at least one veggie meal a week.
Could you use some leftover chicken from the roast to do your chicken chassuer? And maybe do a sweet & sour pork with some leftover pork from your pork roast?
I'm not sure how many your feeding and how big the joints are.
I tend to always do a pie with leftover meat from a roast and I've started making chicken & sweetcorn soup with the boiled up carcass and serving that with bread and a pudding.
I hope some of that helps...happy to list other meals if you like...?0 -
Have just been into town and spent £66 on boots, bras, a jumper, fleecy sleepsuit for DGD and envelopes:D:DAll essentials imo;)Anyway I will do a total deduction each Friday in my sig:D

hi ya, its me, 25. hubby 39 and son 4
never thought of doing a pie. do you use pastry or mash on top??
i would love a good recipe for bread pudding (but simple) as i always have bread near to going stale and i love bread pudding! the one i tried turned out very sloppy, !!!!
i buy joints of pork usually 2 pork sholders for £5.00 off the market but asda had a lovely looking crackling joint today reduced!
i only ever make chicken chasseur with breasts as thats what i was used to. could u use thighs??? would you remove meat first of cook with bones?
i plan to turn left over stew into a curry as im making it in the slow cooker so whats left will have a carton of pasatta added and some curry powder and re- heated for a bit then cooled and froze. is this ok to do??
my fave dessert is the cheapo instant whip dessery from as@a etc it costs pence and team it with a value jelly(pence again) its a very thrifty dessert. can even layer it for a trifle----yummmmm
i think i may have to cook too much roast so i can have bubble and squeak for lunch the next day
i love it with pepper and a piece of bread!!
i remembered i have loads of sauces saved from currys i ordered in in dec in the freezer. curry next week i think
now, how do i pad things out with lentils??????? my hubby loves meat, but im willing to try. he can but moan!!!2015.......I aim to have a tidy de cluttered house by Xmas

At six months I do baby led weaning (blw), no mushed food. Steam broccoli, carrots etc in sticks that can be grasped and sucked until there is no more
Sometimes I'll mooli Sundays dinner for them, but generally they have exactly what we have but grabby-stick style. Exception is thing like chilli, curry etc at 8 months, then it's more rice/couscous than sauce iyswim. They just grab handfuls and shovel it in.
Melon, apple (cooked), soft pear, banana etc all the same way, cut into fishfinger-ish sized piece and hand to baby. Most of their nutrients are still gained from milk and the food is more do do with texture and taste rather than nutrition.0
