    jtb2412 fingers crossed for tomorrow

cw thinking of you and your dog, (((((((hugs))))))))

  • Got to the gym today. Popped into Ald*s on way back and spent 2.43 on parsnips, potatoes and bread. Have to find the chilli in Mr T tomorrow..so still 2 NSDs so far.

Had delicious cheese on toast for lunch (using w*rcester sauce and some beautiful organic cheese I was given for christmas) and M and S pizza with chips for tea (pizza was £3 but we only used a quarter each and the potatoes were free so 75p dinner). This afternoon was taken up by school work/ironing and watching Autumnwatch.

We've just spent some time reading from Larkrise to Candleford-read a page each and note down any unfamiliar words-try and guess what they mean-then test each other the next day to see if we've remembered. If we are really clever we will try and drop some into conversation-(so its turnpike/shakedown/windlass tomorrow). Going to have a fruit tea later (saving the sloe gin for next weekend) as I've got loads of teabags to use.

Love all the posts...esp about the ducks and chickensx

Keep up the good work everyone.

Just caught up with everything. I have not spent a penny this year yet challenge wise, have bought a couple of presents today, but this comes out of my 'money neutral' budget, so technically, does not count.;)

It's not looking good here weather wise, I hope that it improves soon, but won't hold my breath.

DH went back to work, he had to go the long way, but is back safe and sound. I sent him away with lots of food in case he got stuck, but he didn't, fortunately!

    Will check back later. xx

Well so far am off to a bad start ... I bought a duck from one of my neighbours as my duck had lost his partner and was looking really lonely. Hopefully, I will have a pair of ducks now and will be able to breed from them!:j
... But also spent 15E on some more chickens. However, I am hoping to breed from them and sell on their offspring as they are purebred Polish chickens!! So hopefully. I should make the money back that I have spent on them!
    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

THIS is exactly how I manage to spend too much money on things - my old habit used to include horses but I;ve managed to cut down to just hens and ducks (and quail, pheasant and a guinea pig) :o

Our latest chicken (store bought, not one of mine) was turned into roast dinner last night, chicken curry tonight, a pot of soup and the remainder into the freezer for another meal, so we got 4 meals (If you count soup & pudding as a meal) out of a whole chicken plus extra soup for trading via LETS or freezing into individual portions for DS's lunches. :)

After making the 4 banana loaves, I did get around to stewing down all the tomatoes, so I now have a carton of tomato in the freezer that will get made into tomato & basil soup plus enough stewed pulp to make several cartons of bolognese & chilli sauce. Defrosting some mince for that now, but the freezer will need repacked and the basket removed to make enough space for it. :)
I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

    Evening

ttdb - know what you mean about Plymouth, I went to Tesco Launceston yesterday and it was ridiculous. Took me an hour to get half a dozen items! (fortunately I had already done most of my shopping in Lidl ;) )

Mumoffour - Hope everything goes well for your Dads op, how lovely to hear of such a close family (albeit under horrible circumstances)

SFT - I have a friend who walked all along the Thames over the course of
the year, starting at the source near Cirencester. PLEASE put your pictures of alpacas up, I  them

    Yesterday I spent

    Lidl - £33.29
    Tesco - £16.97
    Pizza Hut - £26.85
    Cinema - £15.30

Today I spent....nothing!!! 1st NSD of the year . Did not do much today, was extremely lazy and just spent the time reading. Did take a few things to the tip, but that is about the extent of the productivity. You put me all to shame :p
