Well...theres other things to take into account as well as the direct price comparisons. I swopped to e-on recently for my fuel - and they (so far) seem to be one of the few firms I have encountered where people know what they are doing/the computer system is set up properly. Its got to be moneysaving to deal with a firm that is actually efficient for once - saving all the phonecalls/letters/emails/etc and sheer loss of temper involved in dealing with many firms because they are just so awful - <cough> lost my temper with Virgin AGAIN this morning....lost count of JUST how many times I've been mucked-around by Virgin.....
absolutely agree with you used to b with n pow ** never ever again !!!!!
I find ebico brilliant though so that is another plus (all thanks to martin

Well, I slipped and grazed my knee this morning (now have a matching pair!). Should have been more careful, it was near where the car almost slid into me on Wednesday, but today it just looked like slush - only there was solid ice underneath! Perhaps I should forget about boots & shoes and just invest in ice skates, :rotfl:

Hey all,
Thanks again for all the lovely comments about my elephant!!!
Hardup- Have you ever thought about knitting without wool? Maybe trying to make shopping bags from old plastic bags or even cushion covers from sliced up t-shirts?
2ndtr - You are an insperation by choosing to look after your mum. I used to work in a care home when I was a tad younger and have decided that come the time my nearest and dearest will never be put in a home and I will care for them myself as best I can.
Todays has been an indoors day, though happily the last of the snow and ice was washed away last night. I'm half way through sock two for OH's friend and then I'm planning to knit elephant mark 2 lol.
Tonight dinner is toad in the hole again, I made 4 lots yesterday with the idea to freeze 2 but OH begged me to leave them out for today so they must be good lol. He hates anything twice in one week let alone 2 days in a row.
Can't remember who had the pineapples but don't forget if you save the tops you can plant them and grow your own pineapples, takes a few years I think but sounds like fun!

Well I have managed to get off to a good start for the year so far. I have spent 4.1% of my £4086 for the year. At this point I should have spent 4.38%. Hopefully I can keep it up. lol

Tut tut Ceridwen you are leading Nessa astray, I can't imagine what either of you are alluding too & anyway we can't do 'that' all day everyday, lol.
Thanks for the sensible suggestions FR & Gilligan.

Well OH has been working on the new shower We managed to get a replacment for the original for a reasonable price but we needed some sort of decorative panel to cover the hole in the tiles. He had had to make the hole bigger to get to the pipework so the original one is no use. We eventually settled on a panel of mosaic as we cannot match the original tiles so are gong for contrast. Of course the ones we wanted were £89 a box:eek: (The shower was less than that) anyway when we looked in the box on of the panels had a piece missing so the lovely girl sold us it for a considerable discount - we only needed one panel anyway so it was perfect. Anyway all the prep work is now done, just the turn off the water and deal with the pipework left to do. We are going to do this in the morning as we would have to drain all the pipes and turn off the heating - not my idea of fun:D But I have turned off the water heater as I don't want to drain a full tank of hot in the morning.
The shower is covered by the iphone sale so the only budget spend today was some groceries in Morrisons and a corkscrew - we'll need the bottle of wine when we have finished tomorrow:rotfl:0 -
