To add to all the excellent advice so far, I have realized that bankruptcy is not restricted to one 'type' of person - all 'sorts' of people contemplate bankruptcy as a last resort when, like me, they have exhausted all other options.
A few years ago I would have never considered I would need to go down this road but circumstances meant I ended up a single mum of two, redundant and unable to keep up a mortgage. After getting lots of great advice, from CCCS, NDL and here I went down the BR route, its not all over yet but the worry is much less and I am now in a council house, working, happy with two wonderful children.
If you are struggling then please don't feel you have failed to consider this route, just that you have been strong enough to realize this may be the best way forwards for you and your family. I will add you must always take advice from one of the free debt agencies before going down this route.BR 08/06/09 ED 10/03/10BSC member 2500 -
Thanks for opening this thread DI. We usually see people creeping over from DFW this time of year to see what bankruptcy entails. Hopefully everyone who has questions will have the confidence to post! Happy New Year to all!
