Business Phone Tariffs

We have been approached by daisycommunications.com to switch our business line rental to them. They are offering 50% reduction in line rental for the first year, 10% reduction for the next 4 years and 10% reduction in call charges.
Alternatively you can commit to just a 36 month contract, with 25% line rental reduction in the first year - all other reductions remain the same.
Does anyone know of a better deal than this out there for businesses. Our outgoing calls are very few, so it is mainly the line rental element we are looking at.

You don't mention what their tariffs are? I looked at their site and there seems to be no mention of what customers will pay for calls.
You may not be able to use other carriers to 'least cost route' your calls, should you so wish. Check the small print to see if you are bound to use only this company for routing your calls.
Also check that after the minimum period, be it 1 year or 3, that if you don't cancel the contract that it doesn't run on for a further 1 or 3 years. I looked at their T&C's and it seems to me that you only get one opportunity to cancel at the anniversary. See quote from their T&C's below:b) thereafter, one month's notice from you to us. This notice to be received by us at least one month before the anniversary of the commencement of the agreement. If such notice is not received within this time schedule the agreement will enter a subsequent minimum one year term and these terms and conditions will continue to apply0 -
I would agree with steve x - all that shines is not gold and more so in the telcoms world.
The fact there is little margin in offering line rental and penalties are high if you - up grade - cancel - move sites.
Further if they are slow to log your faults and chase bt you could be.............. >:(
Personally go with the straight dealTell it as it should be....0 -
IMHO..
still got to be far better [unfortunately] to stay with BT for rentals - albeit at slightly higher rentals - as we have to date no idea/history how well or probably badly these newer companies' customer service units will deal with any problems......
They will still have to liaise with BT & I would imagine it would be in BT's interest to screw these companies around in order to regain their 'old' clients..
In this instance lethargy may be a virtue!
(am I paranoid or pragmatic?)something missing0 -
Thanks for your thoughts guys. You may well be right, it's just that we have a thing against BT and want to switch at the earliest possibility.
Will probably hold off for a while though, to see what else is offered.0 -

I can vouch for http://www.resource-utilities.com - a very smallcompany but extremely helpful on the phone, prompt customer service, their charges are basically as BT less 10% (including line rental). Possibly not the cheapest but no gimmicks in their pricing, no long term tie ins and no misleading claims.0
