We've just booked this very minute - through Virgin.
Flying Monday 22nd via Manchester with US Airways - 2 of us and staying 9 nights in the MGM - total price was £1160 - so £580 each.
Expedia and ebookers are both showing as £850ish and US Airways flight alone is £600 - so i snapped it up. We're going for a wedding on the 24th, and a good chance we might fly somewhere else for a couple of days - so not bothered about the hotel/changing at all.
This is the flight ive wanted and have been pricing it up for weeks - cheapest its been was £500 4 or so weeks back.
I think it might be a miss price - the Flamingo total price is showing at £1700 - the Mardi gras is £1500.... we've got this at £1160///
Paid £300 deposit and have a booking ref -
do you think they would cancel it at all? Hope not, im all excited now.
This sounds absolutely great! Have tried to find this price myself but I cant, I take it it was on Virgin holidays, not virgin atlantic? Have looked at this date and then at all the other flight options and cant get anywhere near this price. Would you mind explaining how I find this? I would be extremely grateful as I have some tesco deals to use up!!! Many thanks0 -
MayJersey Boys lasts 2h 10m with an 8 min intermission.
As for racing to exchange the T4T voucher for actual tickets at the box office. We did this the first time we saw Carrot Top, raced down to the Luxor mid-afternoon and got tickets in the very back row. Not a problem as it was a small theatre with only 13 rows. Next time we didn't bother and just went to the box office about an hour before the show started and got seats in the 8th row.
For Jersey Boys you can often get tickets at T4T for the following dau's show. Most are same day. They won't be half off, maybe 20-30% off.0 -

It was a missprice.... get an email today saying they'd under charged us as a system error and the hotel was only charging at 1p per night...
They wanted to charge us an extra £686 pounds, bringing the cost per person to £910.
After loads of emailing back and forward, a little bit of tears and a tantrum from me, ive managed to get it down to £743 each, 9 nights and via Manchester. Happier with that then the £850 expedia/ebookers are quoting, but its not £580...grrr! The price just now is showing at £1100 per person for MGM :eek:0 -

I though your original price was to good to be true, shame they didnt honour it. I personally would not want to spend 9 nights at the MGM though.
9 nights at the MGM at that time of year including a weekend would prob cost around $600, at $1.5 to the pound, about £400 so you have still got a decent price.
£1100 per person is ridiculous0 -
January , FebruaryWhen I went in Feb I got the taxi to go to huntingdon press first from the airport ( I had printed map) and then onto the hotel. Worked out well as got to see the city center complex and rio, palms and only cost a few extra dollars. I had called ahead on skype and they had the book waiting.0

MarchThanks everyone for the SF tips. I didn't think that many of you would have visited! :rotfl: Thanks - I'll make sure that we buy the Alcatraz tour in advance too. If there's any more tips on hotel, I'd really appreciate it.
Triker - Yeah, it does seem that the big convention is causing some very high rates. Even Bally's was silly money (Mon 21st to Thurs 24th, all at $269 per night ).
I've booked a hotel for now, and I'm really, really hoping that I can find something better as the dates get closer. You should also book something now that's fully refundable, so at least you've got something. You'll only need to pay the first night and you'd be no worse off..... Looking forward to counting down with you. We're flying to San Fran on the 22nd :j:jLove MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -

We stayed Fishermans Wharf, in the Holiday Inn (was free as had points to use up and they upgraded us to the business floor), which was opposite a Marriott, and there was a Holiday Inn Express round the corner.
Very convenient for all the restaurants on the piers and Alcatraz boat, and the bus tours seemed to start from there as well.
Heres the tour I would have liked to have done.......not winter though. http://www.gocartours.com/sanfrancisco/sanfran-tours.htmlillegitimi non carborundum0 -
December ( including Xmas and New Year )This is just one more question, for those of you who have been to Las Vegas, what do you think is the best way of getting from the airport to your hotel. We are going to be staying in the Vdara. If you guys can include costs too that would be great!!!
Thank you, Jodi xx0 -
January , FebruaryTaxi, or wait around for a bus to the hotel ($8-10)
Taxi between 10-$14 ($20 with tip ish!)
Or Hotel limo ($40-$50) book through vdara hotel
Tell them not to go through tunnel!
Good Luck0 -
MayTaxi definitely, $15-20 + tip and remember to say "No tunnel thank you". It will take no more than 10-15 mins.
The shuttle bus is $6-7 per person and could wait until it is full before it leaves and go round all the hotels before you are dropped off.
You can book a limo for around $60 for an hour + tip and have a tour of the strip before being dropped off.0
