Getting married in Vegas in April, managed to get my flights sorted this week....

Flying direct to LAX with United, then took advantage of Southwest's 'Get Away' rates and paid $19 each way for me and my fiance! So all in all the flights were just over £500!

Congrats on the impending wedding. :) Are you staying in LA or going straight to Vegas?

Thanks! The LAX stop is literally a stop.....for that day anyway!

We're heading West after the wedding in a rented Dodge Charger from Dollar.com so will catch up on Southern CA then!

If you have the option I would change the charger for a 300C , might cost you a little more but the comfort level will go way up, the Charger is a dog, because it is trying to be sporty the suspension is hard where as the C is built for comfort
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

No chance! :D Had a Charger when I was last in California and it's my favourite!

OK, that's good...I was slightly worried for you if you were expecting to catch a connection onto Southwest after arriving on the United flight. :)

As for the car, it's likely to be a Charger 'or similar' I think - so not guaranteed to be a Charger...and if you're nice to the person allocating the cars at LAS (and if you're willing to give a tip for an upgrade) you might be able to do better - they may allow you to choose from the premium row instead of the full-sized row...we thought the Charger we had once was fine (we'd actually rented an intermediate but they were out so we were pointed to the full-size row), but didn't do any distance driving in it and I will generally defer to stoneman's advice in all things automotive. :)

    How do ya mean?

Plan is to arrive into LAX at 1315 and then our Southwest connection is at around 1800, thought it best to leave enough time to clear immigration etc.

You'll have to clear immigration, collect luggage, change terminals, and then go to the Southwest desk to check in (unless you've done so online) and check bags again, then go through security, etc...it's just that if your United flight is late and you miss the connection on Southwest, Southwest will have no obligation to get you to to Vegas. Sounds like you've left plenty of time though.

Ah right, yeah, sorry I thought you mean there was some underlying problem I'd missed!

Having been caught in the 'different airline' lag before (Continental were late but Jetblue were kind enough to put me on a later flight at no charge) I deliberately left 5 hours between flights (much to my fiance's annoyance!) plus I'm a stickler for checking in online! :)

Sorry to go a bit off topic, I mentioned a few months back that I may have a TomTom 910 for sale (with USA maps) so if anyone's interested, please PM me for full details before I put it up on Ebay.
