love how it goes from the bright and loud IP i remember to eerily quite and dark in just a few turns . i wish they had left the camera running to see what the room was like though .
Does anyone know how long it takes to receive the American visa ESTA application? Wondering if this needs completing sooner rather than later before my trip.

you should get a immediate confirmation unless there is a problem ( unlikely , but better to know now rather than later ) . now you have booked up you can input your flight and hotel details , print it off . JOB DONE

sounds like you got a very good price with that package by the way :beer::beer: . try the $20 trick , but i honestly think you guys are going to be fine with whatever room you get there

the cheap buffets and places like Ellis Island are where it will be best to eat cheaply . remember you can eat as much as you like at the buffets . Big breakfast and Big dinner and you will be sorted .

    Have a blast . :A

I think it is unfair for people booking $22 rooms at IP to then complain about size, light, walk etc.

Having said that, I am glad I changed mine from Capri to Deluxe (had a Deluxe Tub last time) and for $50 per night I won't be complaining!!!

Have just watched that IP video.

I know TRMV. (The Real Mr Vegas) He's Tony from Arizona and is very keen on good traditional beers. A very nice guy.

That is probably around the price I'm looking at per day - even less if possible! Are they actually any good though? I did read that there are some steak houses that offer cheap specials etc. Is there a conclusive list of value eateries online anywhere?

    You could check here:

In addition to those mentioned, the buffet at Main Street Station is great value and good food.

A 2-for-1 voucher here (along with some others):

They regularly update the vouchers with new expiry dates.

Here's a list of buffets and prices.

Personally, I wouldn't choose to eat at the same place all day...and for $30, I'm pretty sure we could each feed ourselves for less if we needed to and have nicer food.

Maybe consider some restaurant.com vouchers - or perhaps the American Casino Guide for some 2-for-1 buffet vouchers too...or look online - loads of vouchers to be had.

We normally avoid eating at fast food/food court sort of places in Vegas as there are sooooo many options out there for good value and we're not big fast food people generally. Subway can be an option for us for a quick and reasonable lunch though. And of course In-n-Out Burger...which is just awesome.

In most other cities I would agree with you - but I think that in a lot of cases if you can get IP Capri rooms for $22, it wouldn't cost much more to get a much nicer room that doesn't require that sort of trek. :)

We're paying $22 per night for a lot of our weeknights at Excalibur in May. No comparison with IP Capri rooms, even for the basic room there.

    Wow!

We were planning on trying it out during our trip...but reading the story it sounds like there have been wind-related issues before...so now I think we'll stay away even if it's relaunched.

It had just resumed operations following a mishap during another windstorm March 6. During that incident, several guests were shaken up when an aluminum band connected to the passenger compartment was damaged, leaving the gondola twisting and shaking in the wind.

We had the breakfast buffet at Excalibur on our last trip and were surprised at how good it was, it rarely gets a mention on here so we were very pleasantly surprised.
