I have my Mobile number down on my Business account as contact number so people can leave a message, don't want people ringing me at home.

Mrscmr - just read your message on your diary, try not to let it worry you, does it have your phone number under your address on the invoice you send? I think mine does but am not 100% sure. My address and phone number are on my Business account as you have to have it there, at the moment you can have it on your listing page or in your Shop/About Me Page, soon every business seller will have to have their address/number on the listing page.

Ebay is really going down hill with all these new rules, I'm starting to get fed up with most of it, why can buyers leave stars and neg feedback for a seller but not the other way round, it bugs me, if someone buys something and doesn't pay or doesn't respond to a NPB then a seller should be able to leave a neg so that other sellers can see what sort of buyer they are dealing with.

I noticed on my Business account that I have had a couple of 1s or 2s for postage and I think my charges are reasonable.

I know that it's the rules but I really don't want to have my address on display, don't mind phone number as I would put a mobile on. One thing that's really putting me off starting a business. It's not so bad if you're working from a unit but a lot of ebayers are home based businesses aren't they. I think that if I go for it I will rent a mailbox, as you then use that as your physical address & it's not a po box that you can't use. I assume that is ok???
Does anyone on here do that?

I was thinking the same thing. OH was looking at renting an office in the city, they're really cheap presumably because they are tiny lol but we dont really need it for anything other than a business address, plus we could maybe store things there? anyway, this is one of the big reasons I dont want to start up in business just yet.
  • I think the cheap PAYG phone connected to ebay account is a good idea. Too late for me I think my home number is on my account, might look at removing that just in case.

I have thought about getting a really small cheap shop front as a start because of storage and compartmentalising the business away from home. Have looked at rents, not sure yet though.

Also I received a trade price list for my niche item and I can't believe that anyone can make any money after ebay fees, costs etc. You would have to be doing it on such a much bigger scale.

For my town, if I have it for 2 years it works out £24 a month, I don't know if it all has to be paid upfront. You can have 4 mailing names attached to it for that. I think that's what I'll do. I certainly don't want anyone being able to turn up on my doorstep. Does that make me sound paranoid?
    Something to ponder over..
Mrs hope that you're feeling better today.
Hope everyone has a stupendous day.
