Great, they responded with:
Apologies for the bad size suits, yes please return them back to the address below, and I will issue you with a credit note.
I take it that means I have to arrange and pay for a Courier, how do I do that? What a PITA!!Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
Make sure you use a courier with tracking just in case the company try and deny receipt. Also make sure they don't expect the whole batch backrather than just the faulty ones.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I e-mailed and they said to just use post but with tracking, will cost a fortune. I'm sending all of the tracksuits back (12 in total) as I'm not happy with them. Will try Parcel2Go maybe, although do I need to know the weight? It cost me £11.75 (including tax) to have them delivered.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160

Ah the joys of wholesale, this was the type of problems I ended up having. My stuff was never quite as advertised and I ended up barely breaking even after I paid tax and nI.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. hi dansmum, gosh that is a good total for over a few weeks
well done!
I hope it doesnt cost you too much TMD, what a bummer that they arent satisfactory!
Do you all have business accounts as well as personal? I was just wondering, if you set up a business account do you then have to declare yourself selfemployed etc? Do any of you work for someone as well as yourselves? I'm just curious as to how it all works? (it's quite a daunting prospect when you've not done anything like it before lol)0 -
Anyone used Parcel2Go before? Not sending them back in the cardboard box they came in as it's huge, might just wrap in black bags (they are in cellophane).
Angelcakes - If you are buying stuff specifically to resell then you should by law register with HMRC and become Self Employed as a Sole Trader, if you are only selling your own personal items then you don't have too. I never earn enough to have to pay tax but still have to do a Tax Return every year.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -

I've got business accounts and private accounts. The private accounts sell just my old stuff lying around (or to be more accurate stuff from my sons vast cupboards of doom).
My business accounts sell new goods that I buy to resell, and also some used goods (not much) that I have bought at car boots or charity shops purely to resell. All my business activity plus thta on Amazon is declared to HMRC and I pay tax. I also have other self employments and just do it all online (usually at the last minute) and pay the tax bill .I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I'd just send them in the bags TMD, but others may think otherwise?
thankyou for the info, I was considering buying things to resell but haven't as of yet. Do you declare it all as soon as you but things to resell or do you just do it at the end of the tax year? Also, do you still get tax credits if you are self employed? And finally (sorry for all of the questions!), how do you think it would all work if you were a student also? Both OH and I are at uni, would we still get the student loans?0 -

TMD unless you use that supplier a lot & trust them I would find a box to put them in so that they can't try saying they were damaged in the post. Couriers you can usually send 20+kg for the same price, much heavier than your returns should be.0
