now my newnotepad not working and so upset

i have just downloaded avast and now my new samsung notepad computer does not work. am really upset!!!

    think will stick to something like norton next time. cheap not always the best!

    I have deployed Avira/Avast on 100s of machines without problem

    if you took the battery out and it started working, then that suggests (to me) that it may have other problems as well.

    I guarantee that more people have encountered problems with Norton security products than any of the free options.

    Usually Avast is idiot proof. Obviously on this occasion it wasn't.

    Hope somebody got your netbook working again for you.

    i dont understand why some people did not understand the post.
    Depends on which virus definition it came with. The OP could be unlucky and have the one recently that quarantined legitimate windows system files and rendered millions of computers unusable.

    Because 'does not work is vague', it might be that the computer won't power up, wont load windows, or isn't connecting to the internet. I'm still unclear as to what effect downloading Avast had on your PC.
